About
Nestled deep in the beautiful Texas Hill Country between Austin and San Antonio, you'll enjoy the scenic drive in almost as much as you'll enjoy the winery! Our diverse wine menu, beautiful grounds, spacious patios and majestic oak grove are some of our visitors favorite aspects of the winery. We hope you enjoy them too! We offer educated wine tastings inside our tasting room. Have our wine educators guide you through your choice of any five wines, or enjoy wine by the glass or bottle while lounging outside beneath the oak grove. We highly recommend wine tasting reservations on Saturdays. Lone Man Mountain Brewing Co. shares our property serving meticulously brewed award-winning craft beer! Available by the taste, flight or draft.

Nice visit to Wimberely. Book ahead of time if you want to do the wine tasting, though I’d recommend just grabbing a class or a bottle and heading outside because the wine tasting looked to be only inside. Plenty of seating, spaces out at a good distance.

We really enjoyed visiting the winery but could not do a tasting because of the large groups that had reservations. They only had one line for guests without reservations and after an hour we had not even moved one step closer to actually doing a tasting. We went to the Express Line and bought a bottle and cheese plate and went out on the lawn which was much better. The bottle we chose was really great and made what would have been a disappointing visit better.

We had not been here before and were brought here as a treat by a local who had visited once for a special venue the winery had. They were impressed with the place and treated us to a visit and wine.
The place is REALLY off the beaten path and there were no other visitors while we were there on a Wednesday early afternoon.
It is a lovely setting with a large outdoor patio under the oaks trees and a nice breeze blowing in. There is just countryside around it so very peaceful. They have a really old rusted car in front and a trolley car that is used as serving bar during outdoor events.
They are in the process of building more buildings but the main tasting room is a great stone building.
When you enter you immediately smell the rustic rock and enter into a grand room.
We were greeted immediately by Pablo when we approached the very large bar. He immediately handed us the tasting menus which were nice with a dry erase marker to mark five wine choices for $18.
One of us did a tasting and the other two bought a glass of wine. One glass was the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon ($10 glass) and was a hearty pour. The other glass of wine was the first white wine on the tasting list, I don’t remember the name. It was $8 for a glass and for some reason was not as hearty of a pour. Both of these wines were good choices.
The person who did the tasting tried one white and the rest red and all were good tasting portions. She prefers red and thought the 2018 Cab was nice but had to have a glass after of the Red Reserve, which she especially liked.
The tasting room is huge and has a large leather couch seating area in front of the mammoth fireplace and a separate room with table seating.
They have a few shelves with gift items. There logo wine glass is a large embossed glass for $10 and is not offered as part of the tasting, which some places do.
It was an enjoyable visit made even more so by Pablo who, although rather new there, was very informative, friendly, confident and professional.

Visited for wine tasting on a late Sunday aft. Pretty setting but was not impressed with the wine, and tasting was pricey at $18 for five wines. Tastes were not as generous as those offered at Duchman winery which gave six tastes for $17.

Visited here with family and arrived at opening.
Parking was no issue but this place is off the beaten path but worth a visit as it is a lovely setting both inside and out.
Inside there are several areas for seating with sofas, chairs and tables.
One large room with a large bar for wine tastings which you need to schedule on weekends because it gets really crowded.
The other room is like a tap room with ales but you can also do wine here as well.
There are two outside seating areas with one being a large deck under the trees. This is where a food truck sets up and serves.
We were able to get a table for a large group and some ordered the glasses of wine, some had a frozen Spritzer type drink ($12) and one couple ordered a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc ($28). All enjoyed the drinks.
The food truck had pizza, Brat Dog, Salads, Sandwiches, etc.
We were early to the food truck but the wait was extremely long to receive the food. There were only two people in the food truck.
The pizzas took as long as the sandwiches.
We ordered the Chicken Salad Sandwich with chips ($16) and it was so so.
The pizzas were ordered by others and most enjoyed but some crusts were burnt in portions.
The place filled quickly and became EXTREMELY noisy.
BE aware when you purchase food or drink here that they add a default tip 18%--20%. We didn't notice this until we saw the emailed receipt. We even bypassed the tip on the machine but it still charged a tip. We didn't see an option for no tip since we ordered at the counter and picked up the items at the counter so we didn't feel a tip was needed much less one that you give waiters that actually serve a table at a restaurant.
Once we were home we contacted the winery to find out about the tips and were offered a refund but now we know.
The place is really nice to visit but it is much less hectic during the week.

We loved the winery. It was the last one we visited and enjoyed it a great deal. The wines were more to my husband's taste. He likes sweeter wines and Wimberley did not disappoint. Like the other Hill Country wineries, they charge a lot for the tastings. It makes it hard to buy the wines when the tastings are so much.

My son proposed to his girlfriend at WV winery and the staff helped us tremendously. Carter, Pablo, and Jazmine made sure it was a big surprise for the bride to be. They also were sweet to put up with a nervous momma. The venue, wine and food were perfect! We will be back. 🩷💍🩷

This Winery was enthusiastically recommended by a trusted friend.

We were stood up at a bar, charged $9/ea for 5 flights of wine that we had to choose. I would have assumed the servers would have steered us.

Two different wine "stewards", each unversed on the attributes of the wines they were serving, attended us. One went so far as to tell us the wine we were tasting "paired well with peanut butter and jelly sandwiches". The glasses were not replaced between flights. When I asked for new glasses after the second flight, we received fresh glasses. On subsequent flights, the steward rinsed the glass with water and shook it out on the floor. To justify charging $9/head they poured stiff despite my repeated requested for smaller servings (after all, it was 11 in the morning).

This winery is totally affordable and has some great sweet flavors. We happened to show up on wine party day and enjoyed it so much, we joined the wine club and purchased some extra bottles. Love the sangria, pineapple, and cherry wines. There were food trucks and live music when we went as well including a double decker bus that serves Kalua hawaiian pork dishes. The winery is very nice and there are very affordable bottles at $9 a bottle. Grab a bottle and go on down under the oak and enjoy it on the couples swing. Great scenery.
