While the Ft. Stockton Visitor Center has the usual brochures for local attractions, it is more of a museum of the past. Outside of the Center are several well done interpretive exhibits, including the earliest history of the Comanche Trail, the Train Era, and the...More

This probably should have been a Museum. I believe it was an IBM Selectric Typewriter in use and the sound was deafening. We got the information we needed and picked up a few pamphlets.

Staff was very friendly and informative. Gave us a free Fort Stockton pin. Worth a stop to stretch legs to view the gardens, silhouettes and waterfall and then to pick up information on Fort Stockton including surrounding area. From here, one can walk over to...More

This is worth a stop for the photo opps (metal signs in the yard, static train display, cute rocking chairs on the porch) even if you're not planning on spending much time in Fort Stockton. The staff is really friendly and there are clean restrooms....More

The grounds are nicely done and the water feature was really nice. The signage to go along with the silhouettes was faded and flacking off yet what you could read was interesting. Outside the building you can pick up maps and a brochure about Fort...More

I was quite uncertain about how much longer I’d stay in this community—until arriving here. What an amazing combination of past, present & future! Rarely have I ever been so engaged, particularly by the exterior displays. In fact, I used up all the bath life...More

Pleasant staff, clean restrooms , local information , historical silhouettes and that’s about it. Pecos Pete the huge Roadrunner is about 100 yards away. That’s it.

The visitors' center was closing as we arrived, and they kindly stayed to help us even though it was after hours. With lots of helpful tourist info, the center is house down in an attractive old railway depot.

The lady we talked to at the Visitor Center was a wealth of info about Ft. Stockton. She really knows the history and how to direct you to get the most out of your visit. She was so very sweet...we really enjoyed talking to her.
