The permanent collection at the Kimbell is very nice. We were there for a Monet exhibit. It was the first time we had been there since the Piano design expansion was completed. The building did not disappoint. Piano's design compliments Louie Kahn's design very nicely.

Its been at least a decade since I've stepped inside this marvelous structure and I'm still blown away by its collection. The new addition is across the courtyard and houses works from Africa, Asia and Central America. All are free - which is so great! There is Monet exhibit taking place now that charges admission but since we were short... More

We are members and love to come to Fort Worth and visit the Kimbell. Besides the featured visiting exhibitions, the permanent collection is definitely worth seeing. The Modern museum is down the street and the Amon Carter museum featuring western art is in the vicinity also. Great area to take out-of-town guests.

Now, until January 29th, one of the most wonderful art exhibitions I have ever seen is being presented by the Kimball Museum in Fort Worth. The Kimball is one of the internationally recognized architecural splendors in the DFW metroplex and is always worth visiting. We are all familiar with later Monet works, his water lillies and haystacks. These works cover... More

If you love art and wish to see it in ideal conditions this museum is extremely hard to beat. The works of art are generously spaced from each other and all on show are of the highest quality. The rooms themselves and the lighting are perfect in all respects. The museum is not large but it makes up for its... More

The Monet exhibition is there until the end of January. It is worth a million times more than the $18 you have to pay (with audioguide giving helpful explanations). Early work is shown here, showing the evolution of the master. There are some amazing ones, my favorite being the magpie. An emotional shock. The permanent collection (free) is also excellent,... So I have started taking one day a week and spending time by myself doing something just for me. My first venture was to go to the Kimbell because I love art but it is not my husbands cup of tea. We live about 15 minutes from the museum so it was an easy trip. I was overwhelmed by the... More

I suspect most people visit The Kimbell for the artwork. For me it was a pilgrimage to appreciate the work of world famous architects Louis Kahn and Renzo Piano. For those unaware, the original museum was designed by Louis Kahn in 1973. An addition which almost doubles its space was built in 2013 and was designed by Renzo Piano. Although... More

This is a good place to visit especially on days when the weather is to hot or it is raining. There are always new exhibits to see. Entrance is free except for the special exhibits, There is also a great Cafe with really good food.

One of the best in this part of the country. Excellent permanent collection and the traveling exhibits are always interesting. Parking is good and you should definitely give the restaurant a try.
