This is a heck of a piece of local history that is well laid out and very well done. There were lots to see in the way of old Fredericksburg, the German settlers, and how they lived. Several well preserved Sunday houses to tour and good history told all about them. For $5 bucks this is a great deal, it's... More

We happen to be here once when the museum had all of the. Reenactments going on. It was fun to be able to take part in demonstrations and talk with those participating in the museum.

Our Spring Break this year is March 11, and 13-18, every day from 10am-5pm. We will have several hands-on activities and demonstrations for young people and parents of how they lived "in the day". We hope you'll be able to come back. Thank you for telling people about us. More

An awesome Museum that tells the story of Fredericksburg. Houses with motion sensed voice description by actual descendance of the places. There is also a great movie on how the Germans got to Fredericksburg.

It's a very well curated museum, with lots of information on the town's past and the first German families that came here. You get to see around 9 different houses from that time that they rebuilt, so it almost feels like you are taking a stroll through Fredericksburg back in the 1850s. In every house a citizen of the town... More

This museum building was moved stone by stone from up the street to this site. There are Sunday Houses and other buildings to check out on the grounds; admission $5. the gift shop is nice, restrooms available. A variety of windmills are on display outside.

When visiting Fredericksburg , I suggest making the Pioneer Museum your first stop. You will appreciate and enjoy the rest of your visit even more so. You will learn all about the immigrants that came from Germany looking for a new life in America , their journey and all the hardship they had to endure to make it to Texas.... More

When arriving in Fredericksburg we decided to drive down the street to get an idea of the area. We spotted the Pioneer Museum Complex and decided to stop. This was a wonderful decision providing an introduction to the history of the area which I do not feel we could have gained elsewhere.
