If you find yourself (or with family, friends associates) in Fredericksburg, TX, take the time to visit the St. Mary’s Catholic Church located on West Main Street. You will be please that you did. If you attend a Sunday service, there is a short-guided tour after the 9 a.m. mass. It was in 1983 that St. Mary’s was added to... More

Every time we go to Fredericksburg, we always visit St. Marys. The Church itself is gorgeous. You wouldn't expect it in a small texas town. It reminded us a lot of the churches we went to in europe!

one of Texas' painted churches and well worth a quiet visit to a historic building that depicts the early architecture of Texas' "gothic" churches

Beautiful church. It was during mass, so we could not wander around but the windows were gorgeous. Apparently no 2 biggest Catholic church in TX size wise.

We have been here a few times to visit the church, and while we have not been in town to attend Mass, we have spoken to some church caretakers and explored the grounds. Everyone was very nice and welcoming, and the church is beautifully maintained.

We stopped by to visit this church on our getting to know the town. It is small but nicely painted. We visited in the early afternoon and nobody was present there. The inside was very light.

We were on a Christmas weekend Get-A -Way-From-It-All and staying in Kerrville Texas. My husband had wanted to go to a Christmas Eve midnight mass. We could not find one in Kerrville, but saw one listed for this church in Fredericksburg ( about 30 miles away). We drove on over and the Church is exquisite, something off a vintage postcard!... Using masstimes.org we discovered a noon Mass on Tuesday which we attended. This was in the original (older) church). A local parishioner was leading the Rosary as we entered about 11:45 am. Very reverent. Mass was beautiful with young men as Altar Servers. Thank you Father!

It's a pretty little painted church in Texas. Not to be compared with the old Catholic churches of Europe, but not bad. Worth popping in for a quick look.
