I came here with a bunch of my friends really early in the morning (just before sunrise) to beat all the crowds and enjoy the vast oceanic views. We wanted to see the view changes from dark to sunrise to full day since it was a day trip. Besides the water being murky and dark, the Seawall itself is pretty... More

Nice easy walk on the beach without the sand. Watch for the chugs some are ankle breakers, all and all pretty safe. Good for bikes or jogging also. A few port-a-potties along the way, the locals are not real big providing restrooms to non- customers.

Gale force winds were blowing off the water one morning. We walked along the seawall. What an experience for a Yankee not used to that kind of weather! The sand really does eat into your skin. Locals said: "This is nothing!" An hour later, all was calm.

It's an ok place to visit. The water is warm, however, its brown and murky. The seawall is good for a morning jog/walk. It was a refreshing site to visit after a hectic week at work esp if you live in Houston.

Great place to walk on the sand at sunset. Great views, and not crowded (at least in May). Numerous stairways for access, and hotels, restaurants, Murdoch's, and the Pleasure Pier along the way. You can fly to other destinations, and may find whiter sand and bluer water, but you will be hard pressed to find a more relaxing and comfortable... More

While I'm sure it was built out of necessity, it obstructs the beach view. The water in the are is very murky. To get to it be prepare to cross a street or pay to park, pay by phone!

Seawall Boulevard runs miles along the south side of Galveston Island giving magnificent views of the Gulf of Mexico. North side is lined with hotels, restaurants, specialty bars, and shops. Rent a bike or get the family on a peddling surrey. Beach assess for picnics, swimming, or a leisurely stroll. Surfing, paddle boards, or just swimming. Life guard stations along... More

There were many people enjoying the beach, not many in the water, but lots of sun bathers. The water was warm, but very brown. There are also many shops and restaurants on the road that runs along the Seawall. The amusement park is also connected to the Seawall.

Not much to see, but the wall is interesting when you know the history of it. This is something you can just see in passing and say, "I saw the Seawall", but there's nothing to DO with the seawall except walk along it, sit on it or go past it to go to the beach. :)

For the most part I'm sure its needed, but it obscures your view of the beach and the water you do see is murky at best.
