Learn how Galveston has survived destruction from historic hurricanes in The Great Storm and the film on Jean Lafitte was interesting too.

Well done about the storm of 1900. The hurricane of 1900 and how it devastated Galveston Island and the people. Pretty amazing history, complete with photographs taken at the time. It's best we don't forget it.Price six dollars each. Length 27 minutes. Parking hourly with...More

We saw the LaFitte show and The Great Storm. Both pretty good. Would have been great had it been a multimedia presentation, but it was only 6 dollars for a 30-minute movie. Seriously, the film needs an update. It is from 1993. We had to...More

We have seen the movie, The Great Storm, many times over the years. While just as informative as ever, it is in need of a technological upgrade. The format was fine in the 90's, but is dated at this time. I would still recommend seeing...More

We watched the two docos on the 1900 hurricane and the pirate/privateer Laffite. The former was the better; it's amazing that Galveston is still here given this and other hurricane's over the last hundred years. Given that the film-maker only had a few stills to...More

One cannot visit Galveston without understanding the impact of hurricanes on the island. The short film The Storm recounts the events of the hurricane of 1900. The impact is presented not simply in statistical data but in human terms. Thank God meteorology has come a...More

The woman selling tickets definitely doesn’t like her job. Impatient with questions and rude. We saw Lafitte movie which was fine but only 20 minutes long. We paid 12$ for that?!! Come on. 3$ each seems a fairer price.

Movie was very good. Lots of details, felt like you were going through it. Pen and ink drawings appropriate for the time.
