Really amazing wildlife sanctuary near Glen Rose, TX. Wide variety of animals roaming freely on fabulous grounds of Fossil Rim. The visitor's center is full of great information about the animals housed here. Restaurant next to the visitor center. I was really happy there and took hundreds of great pictures. Highly recommend.

Bring your car that has a sunroof or a back hatch that opens......it's well worth it. You can buy food (dry pellets) to feed the animals and it comes in paper sacks. If you've been more than once, sometimes people bring their own feed for the animals. It's been my experience that not too many animals are interested in eating... More

I've been here three times now and it seems to get better somehow. This is one of those places I recommend going to when the weather is cooler, the animals seem more active. We took our time and let other cars pass, so we spent about three hours, but we had some fun and priceless moments. You really need to... More

We had a blast! We did the self guided tour in our car. The animals roam freely and are EAGER to stick their head into your vehicle. Despite signs that state to only hand feed the giraffes, several other species will do so as well! Yes, you can only buy one bag of feed right at the entrance, so ration... More

We recently went to Fossil Rim with our teen-aged kids and some of their friends and they all enjoyed it. I would highly, highly recommend taking the tour instead of driving through on your own if you can swing the $. We've done it both ways. It's much more enjoyable to have someone 1) telling you about all the animals... More

This was the best drive thru safari I have ever been on. Takes several hours (3 at least) if you take your time and view/feed all of the animals. They have dozens of very unusual and rare species of animals not found in any other park i have been in. Prices are a bit steep ($21.95 for adults, and $15.95... More

It was overcast and chilly today. An excellent excuse to buy a new fleece in the gift shop before heading out on our three hour tour. Our guide was warm and full of information as she expertly navigated the hilly roads from paddock to paddock. We met and fed all sorts of deer antelope ostrich emu bocks.. We saw cheetahs... More
