HMNS, as it is commonly referred to, is a crown jewel in Houston's museum district. As a past member and frequent visitor, I am impressed by its temporary exhibits, its world-class gem and mineral exhibit, and most importantly, the recently added Hall of Paeleontology. These, in combination with the butterfly center, the IMAX and for us old farts, the planetarium... More

This is not just a science museum, as there's a whole floor devoted to ancient Egyptian artifacts (mummies and all), as well as a gem exhibit, planetarium, IMAX theater and butterfly aviary. I plan to visit again, since I could not see it all. Highly recommend!

This place has an amazing collection of all types of artifacts. Their Egypt gallery has some rare items on display. The only this which is adowner about this place is sthe infoirmation display is not great and its missing in some cases. Must watch the planetarium films. You have to pay seperatly for the tickets.

The museum offered many exhibits; however, it was over priced for the money. I paid $25.00 per person.
