Hi, we are newcomers to Houston and checked out the zoo. Its a bit older and some of the exhibits show it. The grounds are very nice. Huge Oak Trees and Bamboo all over. Some of the exhibits, like the Otter area, were really small as compared to some other large Zoos we have been too. The only true complain... More

The Houston Zoo is a must see. A lot of effort has been made to ensure the animals are comfortable, and their enclosures are as natural as possible. Don't forget to feed the giraffes with the lettuce they have for purchase...or save money and bring your own Roman lettuce!

Even on the hottest summer day, the Houston Zoo is a great place. There are indoor and outdoor exhibits, and there are so many trees to give shade. It's a little pricey, but you can often find discounts.

If you plan to come more than once get a zoo pass they are definitely worth the price. We love everything but the parking which needs to be expanded. We come often and at different times of the day so we can catch the elephants getting washed in the early morning or the sea lion show in the later part... More

The family and I used to visit the Houston Zoo frequently when we lived in Houston--had family membership. The exhibits are great, especially when they have interactive sessions with staff members. If you're a member, you get invited to members only events, which are excellent! On the most current visit, we just dropped in for the kids to see their... More

I used my membership to get discount tickets for visiting family and their children. We spent five hours touring the numerous attractions including aquarium, meerkats, elephants, primates, tigers, lions, giraffes, apes and numerous birds - all able to see without cages / bars except aquarium. Excellent for photography. Kids enjoyed reptiles and children's area. We were able to bring food... More

The Houston Zoo is a very enjoyable place to visit. It's one of the better zoos I've visited. Zoo Lights during Christmas is a must see.

It's a great place for young kids and for date nights. Yup! A date night in the evening! Especially during Zoo Boo, they may have changed the name. Around Halloween time. In the evenings, they have the place decorated in lights and even have story time on a stage for kids or kids at heart. You get to see what... More

We love the Houston Zoo! Having grown up in the area, I've always loved going to the Houston Zoo. During December getting to see the lights and the animals is really a magical experience. The zoo itself is always immaculate and the animals very well taken care of and healthy. If you are looking for a great day with family... More
