While in Houston I took a drive to the Houston Museum District to visit several of the museum’s located in that area (there are 19 museums in 4 walk-able zones near one another). One of the two that I selected was the Buffalo Soldiers National Museum located on Caroline Street. I like military history and I personally found this museum... More

We love history and we were looking forward to this visit but we were disappointed. There wasn't that much actually on display through the 4 rooms and entry way. There is so much which can be done with this part of history and I know that this is a fairly new museum, hopefully they continue to improve on what they... More

My husband loved the history in this museum. It is very small with little exhibits, but we enjoyed the video presentation and the displays.

The History of the Buffalo Soldiers might be unknown to many but after visiting, you will feel connected to the history of these amazing men and their contribution to this nation. For children, a must and made me even more proud of our heritage.

I was very surprised at this Museum was being overlooked by different reviews and people visiting Texas! This Museum was more than expected. I enjoyed being there and learning a lot about the Buffalo Soldiers. Total in 8 in our tour group. I learn something that was a surprise to me at this Museum. See the photograph and tell me.... Fascinating overview of the role of black soldiers in the American military. Well worth the time to view the short introduction video.

This was a cool museum about the contributions of African Americans in wars. It goes further to explore and explain contributions if African Americans in air travel and space. The artifacts are numerous and some are used to display a timeline. There were also great pieces of art work with fine detail.

This is a great tour/museum to do for anyone, you do not have to be interested in History or the military to be affected by the story that is told here, the one question that kept going over and over in my head was why ? sometimes humanity can be so baffling.

I was really excited when I was visiting a friend in Houston and was told that there was a Buffalo Soldiers museum. I love military history and have visited military museums all over the world, and thought this would add to my knowledge. This was unfortunately not the case. For one thing, it's not so much a museum as it... More
