I read up on it before I toured the grounds and was able to find Howard Hughes grave. There are a lot of big names buried here, and the families span generations. Truly well kept grounds and very memorable with the huge trees and landscaping. I have returned three times, the place is really incredible.

Glenwood Cemetery is a beautifully and cared for resting place of many important people such as Houston mayor Judge Roy Hofeinze and General Sam Houston's daughter Maggie Houston, my grandmother's mother. The carefully landscaped and tended ground make for a peaceful and scenic drive. It is well worth the time.

Glenwood is beautiful and tranquil and a great place for a quiet walk. So many people important to Houston's history are buried here - it seems like everywhere you look there's a name you recognize. I truly enjoy my time at Glenwood and always look forward to going back and learning more.

We joined the Houston Preservation Society on one of their guided walks through the cemetery. Very informative and interesting. Very well keep grounds. Great place if you are interested in the history of the city. Great views of downtown skyline. Would highly recommend taking a tour.

This is an amazing property with plenty of interesting characters who forged this great city. You will recognize last names from popular Houston avenues and discover the history of some interesting founders. This in addition to strolling under the shade of tall oaks and paved trails with an incredible view of the city's skyline. This place is ideal for those... More
