This is an old Houston cemetery with many beautiful grave markers, some magnificently landscaped family plots and many, many recognizable names from Houston history. Howard Hughes is buried here in a fairly simple setting. The small car paths wind through the beautiful grounds with old...More

The serenity of the undulating landscape and the diversity of the tree species make this a restful walk on a lazy afternoon. Historic tombstones are fun to identify. The new lake fringed with ducks and water egrets is an Instagram paradise.

This beautiful cemetery is the resting place for some of Houston's founding families,as well as Denton Cooley's and Howard Hughes" grave. It wonderful statuary, especially of grieving angels and many trees. We once went on a Halloween tour and often take visitors with us.

I came here after hearing about it on a local radio show. It was a fascinating tour through Houston (and Texas) history. There were a few other tourists wandering through at the same time, but keep in mind this is an active cemetery. There was...More
