The Big Easy is heaven if you're looking for a dive bar with live music. It was very crowded and tough to get to the bar to order drinks. The band, Grady Gaines, was pretty good, but the sound was all screwed up for the first part of their show. I don't know if that was the bar or their... More

This place has been around for quite awhile.. doesn't look like much from the outside. Inside doesn't look much better. It's a classic dive bar popular with locals and regulars who like the live music. One nice thing about this place is the music is free except on Friday and Saturday nights. I think they charge 5 dollars cover Staff... More

7/19/14 Went watch Tony Vega band and when I ordered a double rum shot for the coca cola for one of our guest, I tasted the drink because she said it tasted like nothing. I tasted what was in the shot glass it was water. I went to the owner and he said get out. So my suggestion at this... More

If you are visiting Houston and find yourself in need of some great company and some great live music, head on over to Kirby Drive and drop in to The Big Easy. You will not be disappointing, especially if you are looking for the best live Blues in the city.

We love coming to The Big Easy when we are in Houston. It isn't fancy (that's an understatement). It doesn't have lots of room. It isn't even all that clean...sorry but it's the truth. But it is guaranteed to be fun! It has great blues, jazz, and zydeco music depending on which night you show up. Some bands are local,... More

Went to "The Big Easy" to hear blues guitarist Alan Haynes the other night. It is a small bar, where locals hang out, not a "dress up" place, but a good old down to earth "dive" style bar. A little scary to see on the outside, but don't judge a book by its cover. Drinks are cheap, a few pool... More

Tell 'em T sent ya! If you are looking for a Blues venue in Houston, look no farther than this legendary blues hall of fame, and a place where the spirit of many long lost blues artists remain. Texas Blues artists? you name them, they have played the Big Easy. The owner, Tom, is a great harp player, and is... More

Located on Kirby near Robin Hood St. it's perfect for the traveler to locate. The parking is limited and you might have to park on a sidestreet if you don't get there early. The configuration of the club inside is rather strange but your typical blues bar. There were more patrons than places to sit by 10pm on a Saturday... More
