- Maxine F1 contributionMysterious Maze of Monsterous MysteriesThe mysterious maze of monstrous mysteries put on for Halloween season is definitely worth a visit. At check in the staff are very helpful and explain everything thoroughly providing and clip board and pencil. You have the opportunity to do 3 types of quest, these cover all ages and are great fun. The décor in the maze is top notch for the scary season, with screens and warnings clearly marked for any area that might be a little to much for younger children. Mum & dad can look in first just to be sure. (The younger ones we saw were loving it ) We took about an hour and forty minutes to complete all 3 quest’s, we really got into it and stopped for pictures everywhere. We also popped back and forth through the maze just to be sure of our answers. This is aimed at families of all ages. We had a great time and my daughter is 18.This is our first Trip Advisor review for our pop up Halloween Maze and it's brilliant, thank you. We are so pleased that you loved your time working through the Halloween clues and finding the answers. It is really well done deep inside the tunnels, we were impressed with the quality of the whole experience. - Kate PWelshpool, United Kingdom75 contributionsA great day out, worth every penny.Excellent, interesting and fun, this was a fab day trip. I was tentative about the ticket price as I'm on a very tight budget, but it was well worth the money. Interesting, exciting, you are literally inside a mountain in amazing caverns, illuminated to make the myths and legends come to life. A few surprises too. My 8 yr kids loved it, mesmerised by the stories. We also did the Hallowe'en maze which took almost 2 hours but held their attention, and mine! Cafe was nice and reasonably priced. We will do some art & craft activities next time. Great day out. Well done to all the friendly professional staff. XThank you very much for your wonderful review and comments. We're so pleased that you decided to visit and that you all loved your time with us underground in King Arthur's Labyrinth, our Halloween Maze and the Corris Cafe too. We look forward to welcoming you back when you return to the Corris Craft Centre for hands-on fun craft activities (we would recommend pre-booking as the workshops do get busy).Written 31 October 2023This response is the subjective opinion of the management representative and not of Tripadvisor LLC.Visited October 2023Travelled with familyWritten 29 October 2023
- saraheboneChester, United Kingdom2 contributionsA great day out at Corris Craft Centre. We had a great day out at Corris Craft Centre. First we did King Arthur's Labyrinth. We took our son who is 5 and although he found some bits a little scary overall he loved it. Afterwards it was all he could talk about, and all his games involved him being King Arthur going on a new adventure! Even as adults we found the tour to be something really different that we'd never done before, and parts of the experience were really impressive. Afterwards we did the Halloween Maze which was really fun, and looked round all the shops which lead to us making quite a few purchases. We also had lunch in the cafe which for the price and quality of the food was excellent. Final thing to note is that all the staff were lovely and that it would be a nice day out all year round. What a fantastic review, thank you very much. We're so pleased to read that you all enjoyed King Arthur's Labyrinth and that the stories told fired your son's imagination :) Thank you for your wonderful comments too about our Halloween Maze, this was a pop-up maze for 2 weeks only and we're so pleased that you enjoyed it. We're delighted that you found lots to buy in the Corris Craft Centre and that you enjoyed the delicious food and drink served in the Corris Cafe. Your comments about our wonderful staff are a joy to read and I will be passing these on to them, thank you very much.Written 6 November 2023This response is the subjective opinion of the management representative and not of Tripadvisor LLC.Visited October 2023Travelled with familyWritten 31 October 2023

- Kate B2 contributionsA fun family trip.We visited the mine on a rainy morning and we had a great time. It is situated in a craft centre so there are some other nice things to go and see - including a lovely cafe. The mine trip itself took around 1.5hrs overall. The children really enjoyed the little boat trip and listening to the stories as we went round.Thank you for your wonderful review. - Houseofninjatravelco41 contributionsBrilliant experience for the familyWe were really impressed with this attraction, it was a brilliant immersive experience and even our son who has some sensory issues enjoyed it! I would highly recommend you take waterproof jackets/coats and also an extra layer and wellies. It can be quite chilly and damp down there, but absolutely worth it. Also do watch your head! Despite not being the tallest and being repeatedly told… I did still bump my head several times, and the helmet certainly did its job! Great play area and facilities for the family, definitely spend half a day here if you so wished. Check out my videos and other attractions in the area on my instagram @houseofninjatravelWhat a wonderful 5* review. We're so pleased that you all loved King Arthur's Labyrinth. - Lettypembe13 contributionsAtmospheric and funNot sure what we do on a wet day, we remembered passing signs to King Arthur’s Labyrinth and decided to give it a go. We were three adults and a soon to be three year old. We hadn’t checked the times of Tours on line and were lucky that one was about to start and had room for us. After an atmospheric video introduction to the myths and legends, we donned the compulsory hard hats and followed our guide into the tunnels. The boat trip was fun and the tour through various dark and damp tunnels was interspersed with stops in caverns and caves to hear the stories and look at the set pieces of figures from the legends. Some of the tunnels are quite low and we soon realised the need for the hard hats. Our toddler was a bit anxious and needed carried along the dark tunnels but he enjoyed most of the hour’s tour. We had lunch in the cafe afterwards, good food. It’s an expensive outing but we all really enjoyed the experience.Thank you very much for your great review. We're so pleased that you enjoyed your underground Labyrinth experience and your escape from the rain! We're delighted that you had a delicious lunch in the Cafe too.Written 17 June 2024This response is the subjective opinion of the management representative and not of Tripadvisor LLC.Visited June 2024Travelled with familyWritten 14 June 2024

Very disappointed, as a disabled person I was discriminated against when I was Rudely asked to wear a mask even though I am exempt due to my disability.
I was then singled out and pull aside by two even more rude staff members and told it was policy to wear a mask and there was a disclaimer on their booking process which we had missed on the booking.
We finally was met by a 3rd member of staff who explained it was not there fault it was ours and Disabilities and exceptions are not recognised at king Arthur's labyrinth, The whole experience up set my wife My 2 young children I would I would never recommend this placed anybody With a disability.

This was all very upsetting for our staff members too. During the current pandemic and with the conditions underground we have a system of mitigation which was agreed with the HM Inspector of Mines, allowing us to reopen and to operate safely. Within this agreement, we need to ensure that all staff members and all visitors going underground wear a face covering at all times. This can be a face mask, a scarf or a face shield. When we took you to one side (to allow some privacy from the rest of the group), this was explained to you and you were offered a face shield to wear instead of a mask (which is less invasive and some visitors who are exempt find that these are comfortable to wear) which would help to keep you and the other visitors safe. Our staff did their utmost to make it possible for you to sail underground with your family. The requirement for everyone going underground to wear a face covering is clearly stated on our website in our Covid Declaration, in the Self Declaration that you are asked to read before arrival and also in the terms and conditions that you agreed to when booking.

The guides from the video welcome to the boats, they were wonderful. The tour was running very late and wet cold weather, we were getting annoyed. The guide had time for our daughter and then the guys on the boats were funny. My daughter said she was scared as it was dark and he gave her a light.
He had time for her questions and she suddenly had a new best friend.
Their customers were obviously warm and practical but they seemed to glide. One minute they were there and next they were gone.
A great chance for adults to experience the caves but for youngsters, a good experience for them. A must for all ages just to experience the caves and we hope you have the same gigs we had.

This was a truly amazing and well organised experience. From the moment we started we were all transfixed. The boat ride and all of the stories really created a unique opportunity to explore the legend of King Arthur.
Highly recommend!
And if you have a small child I recommend buying a glow stick for £1 when you collect your ticket- it helped our little one feel more confident.

Been here for the last three years (before last year) in a row and returning again next week at the start of our summer hol. We are both early thirties and love this experience - it’s fun, original, dramatic and has a sprinkling of Arthurian magic. An extremely enjoyable visit and definitely the most unique attraction in north Wales. Remember: you’re in snowdonia, not universal studios!

Set in a lovely little off-the-track cloister with various gift shops and a cafeteria, this was a great experience and well worth the journey (albeit quite long) to get there. We were unaware of this attraction until we found a leaflet when staying in North Wales. We decided to give it a go as one of our other trips was cancelled and we're pleased that we did. The lady who initially took our call and who we subsequently met was very friendly and helpful. (We had had initial problems booking online hence the 'phone call to make a booking). The boatman summoned us to the mythical trip on a very long narrow boat through the dark tunnels into the world of Arthurian legend. When we alighted from the boat we were taken on an underground tour through various caverns, each containing an Arthurian story, depicted in sight and sound. We also learned of the origins of the red dragon that is the symbol of Wales. The whole experience was very engaging in an atmospheric surrounding and it was a shame to be summoned by the boatmen to return to the real world. To add to this, there are some really lovely gift shops with unique items and craft centres where you could make pottery and candles etc. A shame the ice cream shop was closed but the cafe had a great selection of hot drinks which were most welcome after our travels underground in the cold dark caverns. There was a good selection of hot meals and snacks available.

The caves are beautiful and certainly worth seeing. It's a shame that they're very poorly exposed / not enough light in place to see the magnificence of them.
The tour is concentrated on king Arthur and his links to Wales, all is timed and the groups are rushed through to be in certain places on time for the tape / sounds and lights being put on.
The guide who led us through said at the beginning: you can ask any questions but not about king Arthur because I don't have any clue about him.
Certainly, very encouraging ☹️
The attraction is very busy and it's advisable to pre-book. It's also cheaper online. However the website did not work when I tried to book the tickets, so we just went hoping there will be spaces available. Fortunately there were, we just needed to wait 20 minutes for the next tour.
The staff were not very interested or involved. They just took you from A to B and we're rather happy if you did not talk to them.

Thank you for your review. King Arthur's Labyrinth uses the dramatic setting of an underground slate mine to retell ancient Welsh legends of King Arthur. The timing of the underground visit is pre-set, at a speed that is generally comfortable for our visitors.
I have spoken with our Underground Manager and the comment made by your Boatman was a lighthearted joke and we're sorry if this went wrong. The Guides are mysterious Boatmen whose role is to guide our visitors safely through the Labyrinth. The narrator is there to tell the story.
The Boatmen tend not to correspond with visitors, unless spoken to, as this breaks up the story and can interrupt the visit for other visitors.
We're sorry to hear that you had problems booking your tickets online, as you say, it is advisable to pre-book as it guarantees your boat seats and the best prices. We haven't had any problems with our online booking system and wonder if perhaps you were in an area with poor mobile reception that could have interrupted your booking? Thank you for persevering and for your visit.

I was skeptical at first, wondering if it would be very tackily childish but it was great. It helped a lot that the caves themselves are impressive in their own right, so even if you aren’t interested in the stories and waxworks you can enjoy the well-lit caverns, and riding a boat underground is quite a novel experience. I suppose the stories help them turn what would be a 20 cave tour into an hour long experience.
We originally booked a 3 yr old and 1 yr old, but glad we left the 1 yr old with grandparents instead - it would have been quite a challenge carrying him. 3 yr old enjoyed it though occasionally struggled to keep up. All in all it was a good and unique way to make use of an old mine and we’re glad we visited

Great experience for families (ours is 2 adults, a teen & a pre-teen) we loved it! It was not too focused on young children, but all ages could enjoy.
Starting with a boat (barge) trip into the caves then a good 1/2 mile guided walk with regular stops to listen to the tales being told.
The craft centre has lots of little shops where you can see original crafts (ie glass moulding) as well as purchase some to take home.
Cafe was lovely - highly recommend the home made scones!

Hello! Is this all underground - would it be a suitable activity for tomorrow when rain is forecast all day?
Written 4 April 2022
Due to the conditions underground in King Arthur's Labyrinth, it is not suitable for dogs. However, we have an outdoor storytelling maze (Lost Legends of The Stone Circle) where dogs are welcome. This self guided maze contains 8 mythical stories for you to find and enjoy. The surrounding Corris Craft Centre studios are also dog friendly (excluding the Chocablock Studio and Y Crochan cafe where food is prepared).

How visitors are there in each boat, and are face masks or any other Covid measures still in place?
Written 17 August 2021
Hi and thanks for your message. Yes, under strict instructions from the HM Mine Inspector a face covering must be worn underground at all times. Our boats have a maximum of 18 people on each boat. Hand sanitising stations are positioned at regular intervals (and at every story) and visitors are asked by the guide to use it. I hope this answers your question.
Written 19 August 2021
Hi, yes, King Arthur's Labyrinth is underground and relatively dry in the rain (there's a few drips from the caverns!). There's a short walk to the Labyrinth entrance which is outdoors. However, following periods of persistently wet weather, there can be times when we have to close. Please keep an eye on our website and our facebook page where we post details of any closures. Please wrap up warm and wear sensible footwear whatever the weather above ground as the underground Labyrinth is always a cool 8 degrees. Thank you.

When our daughter was very young she did the underground tour and was startled by a mechanical “fire breathing” dragon in the wall of the canal section. Even at 19 she remembers it and laughs about it (a happy early memory).
I remember that it was out of action the previous times that we’d been nearby. Will it be there this year?
Thanks in advance!
Written 27 April 2018
Thanks for your question and lovely memories from an earlier visit. Last year we unveiled a new finale "Dragon River" so there is a dragon at the end but different to the one that you remember. We look forward to sailing you underground again soon.

How long does this experience take please?
Written 29 May 2017
The actual trip into the Labyrinth including getting your helmets and a safety video at the start takes about an hour. If you do the stone circle and the maze then at least another hour - although on a busy day it could take a good bit longer to listen to all the tales from start to finish and to get the answers for the quiz. A visit to the cafe might take 30 minutes - or longer depending how busy they are and what time you go into it. Then there are 9 different craft 'shops' so again, that depends how interested you are in the crafts available. There are hands on sessions for a) paint your own pottery b) creating your own chocolate and c) candle dipping.
