My partner and I visited the Corris Railway during a week-long trip around Wales in September. It had been on my to-do list for a long time but I had never had an opportunity. What we found was a lovely little line with some really friendly and fantastic staff. The train ride is relatively short, but scenic, from Corris station... More

Lovely little museum / tea shop. Volunteer staff working hard to keep this little railway alive - they need your support.

We were staying a few miles away at Bala and I really wanted to visit this curious little railway for what, to some, will be an odd reason. I just like playing trains, I got hooked when I was about five years old because there were lots of them just up the road from my little terraced house in Plymouth... More

I have been here before, several years ago with my wife and children. This time I was with my mother and uncle. My uncle is as keen on trains as I am, Welsh industrial narrow gauge especially. He spent much of his formative youth in the area, after the railway had closed, but with enough family links to know of... More

Corris railway is right in the heart of the village with a platform next to the primary school and the museum is opposite the Village Institute. Lovely ride along the track avoiding sheep down the picturesque valley. An interesting talk in the engine shed at Maespoeth where the carriages are built and engines looked after. A little gem.

It may be short, but the fun little trip along the riverside and a helpful talk about the origins and plans for the little narrow gauge railway is great. There is also an interesting tour of the sheds and, if like us you go on a Pirate Weekend, a chance to walk the plank and splat the rat. Don't forget... More

Corris is, allegedly, the second wettest place in Wales. I can believe it - but the rainfall does at least make the lush green landscape all the more beautiful. The railway, unlike some others, seems to have good management and vision. It may be small but projects are well planned and I feel sure not a penny is wasted giving... More

Lovely little train ride. Friendly and informative staff. Short train ride to Maesporth then a talk about what the line was used for and how they have rebuilt the train.

Enjoyed our visit, interesting museum and we had a wonderful mug of tea each by wonderful staff dressed up as pirates. A great little place to bring the kids - they will enjoy.
