- deb h6 contributionsPricyLovely selection of shops if you can afford it. Chocolate, jewellery, candles, glass, gin....at £50 a bottle. Nice to window shop but very upmarket prices for things I've seen much cheaper elsewhere. Had a lovely cream scone & cappuccino in the cafe at a fair price but service was slow & tables not cleared. Nice ice cream kiosk. Outside bench seating & a little play area for toddlers. Free parking.Thank you for your recent visit and review. We're pleased to read that you enjoyed the lovely selection of craft workshops. The items that you enjoyed are all carefully hand crafted by the resident designer-makers. Almost everything here is made on site by independent craftspeople, and as such will only be found elsewhere if the craftspeople themselves have supplied their products to other places. The Dyfi Distillery craft, with precision, their collection of 4 multi award winning gins each featuring hand foraged botanicals from the Dyfi Biosphere, where the Craft Centre is based. The gins vary in price from £34.95 per bottle for their Dyfi Original Gin to £48.95 for their Dyfi Navigation Gin. We're pleased that you enjoyed a freshly baked scone and cappuccino in the Corris Cafe. Our service is usually quick, so we apologise if you found it to be slow. Perhaps you visited on an especially busy day.Written 8 July 2024This response is the subjective opinion of the management representative and not of Tripadvisor LLC.Visited May 2024Travelled with friendsWritten 29 June 2024
- Holly H5 contributionsGot CraftyLots of different types of crafts. I did the candle making but wanted to do the chocolate making but couldn’t as it was the same time as our mine exploration but good fun. Lots of little shops with different crafts to buy. A playground for the little ones and picnic benches to sit on, Alongside a relatively inexpensive Café. All the crafts are £7.50 and £20 from what I saw but definitely a fun and full day out especially if you visit the mines aswell!Thank you very much for your fantastic review. Great to read that you had fun making candles. You'll have to return for the Chocolate making with Chocablock. Sounds like you had a busy fun day with us :)Written 13 August 2024This response is the subjective opinion of the management representative and not of Tripadvisor LLC.Visited August 2024Travelled with familyWritten 11 August 2024

Thank you very much for your fabulous review. We are so pleased that you enjoyed the 9 individual craft studios, the Welsh produce available in Bwtri y Crochan and a delicious bacon sandwich and coffee in the Cafe. The cafe normally has a more extensive menu available but with the impacts of Covid, there is currently a limited selection available. Hopefully their menu can return to normal very soon.

Thank you for your review. During the holidays we strongly recommend that visitors pre-book the hands-on fun activities, in advance of arrival, as it can get busy. The fabulous Pottery Throwing and Pottery Painting activities can both be prebooked via the Quarry Pottery website.

Visited with 3 girls aged 9, 7 and 4 and their Mum, plus us two oldies. We all had a great time and spent most of the day here. The girls enjoyed their quiz sheets in Arthur's Labyrinth although the more detailed (white) sheet was perhaps a little too detailed for even a bright 9 year old which meant she couldn't spend a lot of time just enjoying the maze. The story sheet was, however, excellent and ensured the 7 year old sat and listened to the story whilst enjoying the tableaux. The 4 year old loved finding the baby dragons.
Then the boat ride in King Arthur's Cave which was outstanding. A little scarey for children, which of course they loved and so well presented throughout.
Shops excellent too.
The only drawback was that the cafe was a victim of its own success and was very, very busy. As we had booked into other attractions we found the wait too long to buy food.
Shops excellent too.
Otherwise, a must see attraction.

Thank you for your fabulous review, it sounds like you had a fun packed day enjoying everything at Corris Craft Centre. It's a shame that the Cafe was too busy for you to enjoy. We have a brand new menu this year and it has become very popular, hopefully you can visit again.

Dog friendly (except the chocolate shop) and such a nice morning/afternoon spent talking to and buying from local craftspeople. Cool to see and hear the jets doing the Mach Loop overhead too. Would recommend eating in the cafe too, the food is great and fresh (we had the Welsh Rarebit and the breakfast, and a pupaccino)

We’ve been visiting for over 10 years. The water trip, chocolate making and pottery painting are all brilliant, can’t fault anything and the owners are all excellent. Candle making shop however is a different story, we go multiple times a year and the candle shop owners are always very rude so we always go in to make some candles if we were welcomed we would, but I’m not going to pay for an experience at a business who are so rude for absolutely no reason! We will continue to pop in, in the hope that there are new owners but it’s still a no from us! (I know it’s not me as the other businesses have said how rude they are!)

Thank you for your review for Corris Craft Centre and for your custom over the last 10 years. All of the individual studios are independently run by the resident craftspeople and we are sorry to hear that you haven't had a good experience in The Candle Studio.

We called here to look and buy some items from local craft artisans. We were not disappointed as the variety of shops satisfied our needs. We also visited the café for a coffee and were pleasantly surprised how well controlled the Covid 19 guidelines were being applied. The coffee was also great!!!

A wonderful extended day out. So much to see and do with the whole family. Pottery painting/throwing, candle making, glass blowing, jewellery, silk printing, wood Carving, leather work, pictures and not forgetting the amazing gin distillery. Then there’s King Arthur’s Labyrinth, Corris Mine Explorers and the Stone Circle, exciting and thrilling all well worth a visit. Then you must call into the Corris Cafe for a delicious selection of burgers, hot dogs and sandwiches.

We spent a few hours up at Cad West on the Mach Loop so decided to drop in here as it was so close. Coming from Norfolk, which has a thriving craft commuity of highly skilled artisans, we were curious. The full car park was a hopeful sign, but sadly, the crafts available were middling at best. The only good shop was the leather shop which had some lovely bags, but the lady behind the counter was sitting on a sofa entertaining boisterous children and not really engaging with her customers. This place is fine if you have kids and want to amuse them for a few hours but if kids are not your bag then use the loos and move on. A crafting paradise it is not, but if you want to get your kids into crafting, some of the workshops they can do would be good.

We're sorry to read that you didn't enjoy the quality crafts, designed and made here, in the 9 individual craft workshops as much as we would have liked.
Having been up at Cad West, we hope that you spotted our Mach Loop information boards and saw some of the aircraft flying overhead too.

A really nice place to spend a few hours. We went on the ‘pathfinder’ mining tour with Moley who was a fantastic guide. He made the experience really enjoyable and the time flew by. We then had some lunch in the cafe (my partner and I are both vegan and were happy to find a few suitable options, including a vegan jaffa cake which was delicious). Highly recommend to those visiting the area.

Thank you very much for your fabulous review for Corris Mine Explorers. Their underground explorations start from the Corris Craft Centre. Sounds like you had a delicious lunch in the on site Corris Cafe and we are pleased that there were suitable vegan options for you. They cater for all special dietary requirements. Thank you for your recommendation.

Yes, dogs are welcome to the Corris Craft Centre and can go into all of the Craft Studioes except for the Chocablock Choclate studio. However, they have a special hook outside of their studio where you can leave your dog should you wish to go inside.
Dogs can not go inside the Cafe but they are welcome in our outdoor seating area where food and drinks are also served.
Dogs can also explore our outdoor maze "Lost Legends of The Stone Circle" where ancient myths and legends are hidden. Due to the conditions underground, dogs can not go into either of the underground adventures; King Arthur's Labyrinth or Corris Mine Explorers.
