We stopped here overnight on Monday, Memorial Day evening. The weekenders has gone so the park was pretty quiet. Just what we wanted. We prey much Had our choice of spots. The park is very pretty although it is small.

Headed to FRSP after church Memorial Day Weekend. Scenic country views on the easy 2-hour drive from Dallas. We did the self-guided tour, taking tons of photos. Once the buildings closed at 5pm, we fished in Quarry Lake, catching two good sized fish on the...More

This is a well maintained western frontier fort with great explanatory signs and things to do for the kiddos. We really enjoyed our brief stay. Glad we decided to pop off the side of the road and check it out.

It is not a big park but it is a nice place to spend time hiking and with the dog. There are cabins and camp sites available for rent, which looks like a lot of fun.

As with all Texas State Parks we've visited, this one is huge, very nice with lots of natural acreage and wildlife. Our campsite was in a very nice area with plenty of privacy and we enjoyed watching deer feeding in the evening.

I have camped at this park three times and I love it. The only downside is not being able to reserve a specific campsite or cabin but by Dec '17 you'll be able to. The historic site is well preserved and every time I visit...More

Yes, the park has sites with R.V. hookups. Check the website or call them. They are very helpful.
