John gives a great guided tour about the history of Jefferson, with a focus on the steam boats which used to come there. You get a beautiful view of the bayou and we saw Great Blue Herons and turtles. A very pleasant afternoon outing for a great price.

There is nothing fancy about the building where tickets are sold or the boats in which you ride. However, the driver gives visitors an interesting lesson in the history of Jefferson and the way the river affected its economy. It's a fasinating story for people who enjoy history and love to get a true feel for area where they travel.... More

Tour guide was very nice. Told a little history about the civil war and it's history in Jefferson and surrounding areas. Spoke about the bayou and ports. Interesting and informative. Great activity when weather is nice.

Boarding our craft! Gator the river dog. Our guide was knowledgeable and funny. Very nice, relaxing afternoon. Well worth the $10.00 per person. Third picture is of dead armadillo. Guide said in 10 years she's never seen one floating dead upside down on river!

Ride down the bayou on old boats rescued from six flags! It was neat & the captain was very funny & knowledgeable.

I tried really hard not to over think this experience, myself being from a Tourist town that revolves around boats and tours on the Gulf Coast I knew this little attraction had some BIG shoes to fill so it was hard for me not to expect more than what we got. We were in Jefferson with my Grandmother who grew... More

This tour is unique. It combines history, nature, river, architecture, southern way of life, and boating. All of these topics are rolled into the guide's southern humor. While I first came to see the old port from the view of a river boat, I also learned about bat houses, bird nests, live deer crossing the river, fish and fishing, etc.... More

This 1-hr boat tour is an experience that gives you true insight into the history of this part of Texas, how the interaction between geography and people influenced the past and present. The tour guide has personal knowledge and experience of the area and is entertaining and charming as well as informative.

What makes this a great tour is the knowledge that is shared about the history of Jefferson and the delightful way it is told. This is more a journey of great stories and not scenery. Well worth the time.

Thank plstrobel
