My husband and I took a short day trip to Lockhart and were happy the museum was open, because much of the shops weren’t. There’s a lot of history in this building and a very helpful staff.

The Caldwell County Jail Museum was constructed in 1908 and continued to house inmates until 1983. Walking through the old cell blocks, that it was in service into modern times, is a little amazing. There are artifacts and information about the Chisholm Trail, the only...More

We we're excited to visit the museum today and had just enough cash... But the price has increased. $4 per teen/adult and $1 per child. They do not take a card. And if you are a dollar short you cannot get in.

We only got to see the outside as it was closed on the day we visited Lockhart. If we ever make it back hopefully it will be open so we can check it out inside.
