You will find more prairie dogs and burrowing owls just driving around town, than you will find at Prairie Dog Town these days. Those cute little critters have discovered they like the freedom of choosing their own home outside of the walls. As you drive into Lubbock, be on the lookout for our cute little greeters to our town.

I brought a friend here cause he saw one on the side of the road. He had never seen one up close before. We spent about an hour watching them. They chatter. It's really cute how they communicate with each other.

Enjoyable and quiet. Be patient and let the tiny animals behave naturally. They akre quick to respond to stimuli. Avoid loud noise and trying to feed them. Just observe.

A great place to visit during the day - Adults and children can enjoy see prairie dogs - In my opinion it is interesting and cheap entertainment.

OMG, i fell in love with these little creatures. They are super cute and you are able to feed them. Every time a bird comes around they make a sound to each other to warn one another and they all duck their little bodies.

To watch these creatures in their habitat is amazing. They are entertaining and busy. It doesn't take long to drive to the park and take a look. Certainly a different tour that you will never forget.

We all have "pet-projects" but few would go this far. To save the black-tailed Prairie Dog from extinction, Clapp and Edwards trapped two critters and created Prairie Dog Town in 1935. Clapp oversaw PDT's operation and successful preservation of the cute but pesky mammals until his death in 1969. Amazing what a few good hearted people can do if they... More

My wife loves to go and see the Prairie Dogs in the park. We go there every time we are in Lubbock. Brings back old memories from the 1950's.

These guys take over an area of town and people just come to see them peek out of their holes. Couldn't stay too long.
