We went to this because it was right across the street from the Buddy Holly Museum. As another traveler said, why not?

Unfortunately we hit town after the museum was closed, and had to leave early the next morning before they opened. BUT the huge statue was adjacent. Pretty good job and a nice tribute to Buddy.

This statue stood at the entrance of the Lubbock Memorial Civic Center for 30+ years before being removed, repair, and re-installed just west of the Buddy Holly Center. The plaza memorializes, not only Buddy Holly but Lubbock "born and raised" musicians of almost every genre.

This place was simply filler after visiting the museum, and some curiosity as to what it was. I wouldn't make the time to go visit but if you want to kill about 15 minutes, go ahead.
