As a USFS Soil Scientist I attended NEPA training the fall of 2017. While at this training I checked out the museum located on the property. The outside collection of logging equipment and steam rail road engines cars is worth checking out.

There is something here for all ages. Historical artifacts chronicle the growth and impact of the timber industry in East Texas. There is a neat play area for children, as well as an old train for their exploration.

Interesting, clean, informative museum. It operates solely on donations, so technically it's free. We did donate $. A good place to go when it's hot or cold outside.

All of the exhibits are well done, well lit and well explained. Needs an overview/introduction. The old equipment is interesting as well. There is also some railroad equipment outside. A nice caboose, a 2-6-0 steam engine and a very interesting car mounted crane, which unfortunately...More
