My family went today. My 7 year old said he wished he lived there amongst the machines! Nice museum and lots of information.

Went with a friend who wanted to show and explain the history of the forests of this area. Great historic exhibits of early logging of virgin forests, and how the logging industry has moved to sustainable forests. Exhibits of early photographs and historic tools used in forestry. Exhibits helped show advances in preventing and dealing with forest fires. Fun people... More

Very professionally done, and so interesting. Our tour guide was a very old retired forester. You should get so lucky! Do yourself a favor and go here and learn something. Be sure to head out back and climb on the railroad cars and stuff!

This place was awesome! They have tons of artifacts from the lumber era boom, all kinds of neat things made from wood, great displays of wagons, saws, logging tractor, fire line plow on a jeep, saws used to cut down pine trees, videos, a great area for kids to pretend to live in cabins occupied by logging families! And these... More

The Texas Forestry Museum, the train, and the trails behind the museum are a great place to visit when in Lufkin. Adults and children will be actively engaged. There are also many interesting forestry tools and machinery on displayi. The museum is free, but donations are greatly appreciated.

There is a ton of neat facts and history all over this museum. While there is stuff for young kids to do and see a lot of the stuff is going to be boring to them, but adults who like history will definitely enjoy it.

This was a great museum to learn about the logging industry. Always enjoy learning about things I have no knowledge of. Very well laid out and easy to navigate. There were many old photos, drawings, old ledger books and artifacts. Nice and clean and employees were friendly. There is an area behind the museum with an old railroad car. We... More

We love this museum and enjoy taking grandsons here. So much to learn from the blacksmith shop, the train, to the logging industry in Texas. There is something for the young and old. Don't miss this jewel of a museum.

Broad collection of large exhibits. I especially liked reading some of the newspaper articles from times long past.
