Great bar, with lots of character. Very smoky, great decor, good beer, darts, billiards, game following on tv's. It reminded of the bars we visited in our youth in the 1980's. Wonderful little find in an unexpected area that is mostly residential and treading into the country.

We enjoyed our time at the Golden Retriever. Very neat atmosphere and was very chill with nice comfy couches, dart boards and pool tables. Wait staff was helpful and the service was great. Very nice place to try out if you are looking for drinks and bar food, although the food takes quite a while to come out once ordered. Overall an A+ and recommended…

This place could use some airing out as that's the first thing which insults your senses. The bartender was nice enough for someone who looked like he's just been released from hard time served behind bars. We had our one drink and left, no point of returning as the rest of the clientele were a bit dodgy themselves.

We tried to go for lunch, the second we opened the door we were hit with a dirty ashtray smell so powerful that it knocked us back out and to another pub. Smoking is fine, dirty ashtray stench is not.

I walked into the bar and I got a somewhat calm feel of the place, there was a nice person there to greet us and check our ages as usual, he seemed to know some or the regulars which was nice. From the bartender to the servers everyone was cheerful and helpful. The dim lighting and dark wood made it a nice experience for me, and no one seemed to intoxicated. The slightly chilly air somehow goes perfectly with the look of the place.The only problem I saw was a large table a bit to close to the bar which made it quite uncomfortable for the people at the bar and table. Overall it was a very nice place, from the older people usually sitting at the smaller tables to the younger people sitting in large groups or at one of the two pool tables. It was a very enjoyable experience and I hope to go again, and with more people.
