I recommend to pay to go to the tower to get a perfect view of Alcala; it is worthy. The Cathedral itself did not impressed me much, however a visit is well a try.

Not so interesting by itself but part of the very beautiful old city of Alcalá de Henares, which is well worth a visit.

We went here with our Spanish friends . We were offered an English speaking electronic guide when we went inside as we don't understand Spanish but we didn't take it as we had our friends with us. The cathedral was absolutely stunning. It had like a small museum in a room at the back with some items that had been... More

Do go to visit the cathedral when in Alcala. A nice cool building to be in when it was 37 degrees outside! The cathedral suffered great damage during the Spanish Civil War so has been restored. There were photographs of the original Cathedral on display in the cloisters. Lovely to walk around in a peaceful atmosphere. As others have said,... More

This cathedral is well worth seeing, as it is quite grand, with nice architectural flourishes, as well as holding the remains of Justus and Pastor, local saints who were martyred as children.

The cathedral was grand as expected and also very colorful from inside. It had very intricate designs which were feast to the eyes. Various sections inside the Cathedral had exhibits in form of statues which talked about various important personalities in Christianity, so it was very informative.

The Cathedral itself is spectacular but the exhibits on its history and the history of Alcala de Henares are as impressive. They really helped us get a good feel for how this town developed.

Aside from the spectacular architecture and the story of the cathedral's history, there were exhibits on the history of Alcala that helped us understand how the town came to be. The hours may be inconvenient, but it was definitely worth waiting around to see.

Due to the damages caused by the civil war, there are not so many original artistic works left in the Cathedral, but it's interesting to learn the history and image the original situation there before, considering the historical importance of Alcala de Henares. It's nice to go up the tower and have an open view of the surrounding areas, especially... More
