You've most likely heard of it and like me maybe thought you had to travel to remote locations to experience. No! Right here, hit the buzzer place your order and get authentic candied almonds in the container of your choice from true cloistered nuns. It's a simple yet exciting experience. Prices are also good which is nice. Try this out!

A friend took us to see the "invisible women" but we weren't sure what he meant. When we entered the Convent of the Clarisas de San Diego” we saw a rotating mini window in the the wall. Beyond this rotating window lives several nuns who are part of a specific order so you don't get to ever see them. You... More

This convent is a must visit to get garrapiñadas - roasted candied almonds. The nun behind the turnstile will take your money and in return you get the good stuff. You never actually see the nun. The nuts are delicious - really really good.

It's a nice experience to buy roasted almonds from an invisible nun, but what we like most is the taste of roasted almonds they sell. Various sizes of boxes including decorative ones are available, and they are good also for small gift. Open from 09:30 to 14:00 and from 16:30 to 19:30. Sunday from 10:00.

You can buy almonds there by ringing a bell. A nun is hidden behind a turning booth and after you put money in the booth, she returns roasted almonds. You never see the nun, communication is verbal only.

The Convent “The Clarisas de San Diego” is more like a normal house, and is located on the corner of the streets “Beatas” and “San Diego de Alcalá“, and this is only a few steps away from the tourist info, on your way you will pass also the “Colegio Mayor de San Ildefonso”.The Clarissa nuns are an enclosed religious order,...
