Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

So many ways…. First of all you get there and are told to get apretura ticket! Immediately we get in line as i have bad Knees and there is absolutely nothing to do there! The scenery is beautiful but after 10 minutes there is nothing else! No food no bathrooms…. We are told the next available tickets down is 2.5 hrs later..and suggest we walk down to the next lower stop… which we do! That was a 45 minute walk again lovely if you are in great shape! Finally we make it down the mountain 4.5 hours later…. Arrive 4 minutes late. So the only hourly train left about 2 minutes before we got there!

Travelled on Tramway du Mont-Blanc from St Gervais to Mont Lachat (disappointingly this is as far as the tramway goes for the next 2 years due to repair/improvement work so unable to go onto the final stop at Nid d’Aigle). Although some passages and climbers did continue to walk up the tracks to get there. I’ve been on the tramway du Mont-Blanc many times over the past 10 years and rarely managed to go to the final stop due to weather (closed in the winter months) or repair work etc… this summer we took the new carriages (quicker, bigger and more comfortable than older trams, but lost the lovely traditional character of the older models). We went to Mont Lachat and walked back down to Bellevue, stopping at La Charlette mountain restaurant on the way for the most amazing salad of the region. We then caught the tramway back down into St Gervais. Stunning scenery and breathtaking views. I adore this tramway and where it takes you. 100% recommend this experience.

Perfect for all ages. We started late and missed skiing so this was our afternoon. Stunning views from comfortable new spacious tram. Up and back with about 12 minutes at top was just right for us or there was a return tram in 2 hours.
If you don't ski this is the way to the scenic experience wonders of Mt. Blanc.

We booked online - end Aug and beginning Sept there are fewer trains and a much less choice of times to book online. You can get a good deal if you know a couple of weeks in advance which slot you want. A very exciting ascent and marvellous view of the glacier. The possible walks - one descent to the next station were not described very well so we only went to see the glacier and have a picnic. The descent became more monotonous!

Merci
MONT BLANC NATURAL RESORT
Chamonix, France

Bien cordialement,
