- Jess19811Galway, Ireland128 contributionsNice family attraction but very expensiveWe visited Selwo Marina last month. Our son loves penguins so we also bought the "penguin experience". The park itself is well laid out, clean, & the animals / birds appear to be well looked after. There is an excellent playground area which my son would have happily played in for hours. There are plenty of places to buy food / snacks /drinks. There is a bird show a few times during the day which we went to (it was good) & I think a dolphin show twice daily. I have to say the penguin experience was very disappointing - you get brought into a small room in small groups (there was ourselves & another family so it wasn't crowded) and yes you get to be very close to the penguins but you can't touch or feed them and you can't take any photos. There is someone there taking pictures (which you have to pay for if you want to buy them) but he never told us when he was actually taking the photos so there was just a bunch of random shots where none of us was looking at the camera! I would have loved to have a photo to bring home to remind our son of the day but there was no point in wasting money for a poor quality picture that would just end up in the bin. And the "present" of a few baby penguin feathers was pathetic! At €27 each for the experience part alone, I was expecting a lot more - a small keyring or teddy for kids would go a long way. Overall we had a nice morning, spending about 3/4 hours there, but at almost €120 for the entrance tickets & penguin experience it was just far too expensive and I wouldn't be rushing back.Visited September 2023Travelled with familyWritten 17 October 2023
- B3th8515 contributionsDolphin experience is a must!I found this place as I wanted to do something special for my parents so decided to book the dolphin experience. I would pay 10 times over for this part as it was incredible and the staff were amazing. Very friendly and informative. However, for the size of the park and the number of actual animals there, I did find the entrance fee quite expensive. That being said, there was a parrot show, a seal show and a dolphin show at no extra cost and opportunities for photos with various animals. You obviously have to pay for the photos at the end but that is standard. All in all a lovely afternoon out.Visited October 2023Travelled with familyWritten 22 October 2023
- Katie Louise DDoncaster, United Kingdom90 contributionsSelwo MarinaHad a lovely morning, a small dolphin show, walk through areas for birds and small monkeys. The sea lions were very entertaining we spent agers watching them - also there is a photo opportunity to have with a sea lion too! The penguins are also a quality feature, they swim close to the glass and some of them love to show off! Great for a morning or an afternoon visit! Would definitely go again!Visited October 2023Travelled with familyWritten 25 October 2023
- richard s29 contributionsWorth a visitA nice day out seeing a variety of animals. The bird talk was good and the dolphin show very entertaining. Nice to see a variety of animals sharing enclosures to make the most of the size of the site.Visited October 2023Travelled with familyWritten 29 October 2023
- Russell M12 contributionsSelwo MarinaExpensive admission for what there is. I spent around an hour which was stretching it out. Great for families as there is play parks etc. It's definitely worth a visit. The only downside is booking online. They claim you can receive half price entry through a donation scheme but I tried for over 30 minutes to enter my date of birth and couldn't. On that score, don't bother. Plus, I would combine this visit with the cable car as the ticket for both is worth it.Visited December 2023Travelled soloWritten 23 December 2023
- cindy n1 contributionRestaurant horrible, Park lovelyThe park was quite small, but clean and nice. Our tickets were half price, and it was a suitable price, because of the size of the park. The restaurant at the beginning was chaotic. We got other familys food, because plates were just thrown to the counter and people had to quess which one was theirs. Without the restaurant the experience was very nice.Visited December 2023Travelled with familyWritten 23 December 2023
- joeeggGreenock345 contributionsOUTSTANDING DOLPHIN SHOWOutstanding Dolphin Park in Benalmadena, is situated next to Paloma Park and is a must visit venue. The live dolphin show was outstanding with several trainers in the water with the dolphins. There was also a sealion show, a bird show, reptiles and many more animals on display. There is no time limit for guests and you could spend most of the time in there. An excellent day outVisited March 2024Travelled with familyWritten 2 April 2024
- George S10 contributionsBest thing we’ve done loved the dolphinsWe went to the marina a few days ago. The park is small but definitely worth the visit. The dolphins were amazing and the other animals. The bird show was brilliant with them coming up so close to you and flying over our head. They do regular shows that you can see to stretch the visit out. We did the interaction with the dolphins which was €200 for three of us and lasted 45 mins in pool with them and it was the best thing I’ve ever done and worth ever penny. My mum didn’t want to do it and she did and she said it was the best part of our holidayVisited April 2024Travelled with familyWritten 3 April 2024

Our favourite bits were seeing the penguins get fed and watching the dolphin show.Visited April 2024Travelled with familyWritten 19 April 2024
- Mic 🇮🇪Ireland21 contributionsGreat afternoon out as long as you time it for the shows.Good day out for family. We were in time to see the bird show and dolphin show in the morning which made a difference, so definitely check out show times (shows are only 10-15 minutes a piece). The children enjoyed the birds and the bird show with the Macaws flying overhead. The dolphins were nice to see. They liked looking at the other enclosures and they really enjoyed the penguins too.Visited April 2024Travelled with familyWritten 21 April 2024

We were really looking forward to the swimming with dolphins experience. However, after being given strict instructions not to be late, we were left waiting in nearly 40 degree heat for over half an hour past our booking time. There was no swimming involved and had to stand behind a barrier, wasn't allowed to touch the dolphins and just watched them do some tricks, which you could of probably watched at the dolphin show. We booked this is a surprise for our sons 7th birthday. Although the staff were made aware they made no attempt to make it special for him and basically just said "Happy Birthday". We paid a lot of money for this on top of the entry fee especially when you have to pay an adult price for over 8's. We were really disappointed.

We only visited as it was overcast but so glad we did, we loved it as a family with 3 children under 10. We went to all the talks that where on for the dolphins, birds, penguin’s and sea lions, they spoke in Spanish and English during the talks and you could ask as many questions as you wanted at the end. All the animals where visible and you could get up close too. You could also get pictures taken with the animals and buy them at the end but you didn’t have to and there is opportunities to take your own pictures too, we ate before we went so I can’t comment on the food but I would definitely recommend if you haven’t been. We booked last minute and received €12 off and you can also check when booking what days are cheaper if your not fussed. The staff where very friendly and welcoming as well.

We came here one morning during a recent stay in the area at the end of March.
The dophins and penguins were the main attractions for us in the park. My 5 years old loved the dolphin show and it really did highlight how well they are cared for and looked after by the staff. Penguin enclosure was also cool. We also saw the bird show which was cool as the parrots etc were flying around over our heads.
The food was over priced for what it was.
The park is smaller than we thought it would be. In comparison to a zoo at home near us it is a similar price but our local zoo has a lot more to see and there are more shows. A lot of the shows in this park are repeated several times during the day.
Overall we enjoyed our visit but a little expensive.

Not worth it! I paid £70 for 2 adults a senior and a child. Had discount codes but they wouldn't work. Others said it took around 3 hours. We were in and out within the hour! The animals themselves were nice enough and nice to see but I think £70 was a bit much for under an hour. There is a play park there that I suppose would drag the time out but my kids were too old. There are also talks about diff animals but aren't frequent enough for you not to have to go back on yourself to hear one. Food in the cafe looked nice and some of the things in the gift shop were reasonable but also some things were over priced eg €13 for a notebook. Wouldnt go back to be honest due to the entry price

Good morning, Voyage792453
We are glad you enjoyed the animals that live in Selwo Marina.
We always advise to purchase in advance online the ticket along with other products in order to benefit from important discounts.
On the other hand we are surprised that you did not enjoy the more than 500 animals of 76 different species that live in Selwo Marina.
And we are sad that you did not enjoy the full program of presentations and didactic and entertaining talks about the habitats represented in the park and the species it hosts, representative of the marine fauna and the jungles of the world.
Fortunately, the talks are usually repeated several times a day (two or three times a day depending on the opening calendar of the park). If you download our APP or access the prices and schedules on our website, you can get information in advance about the schedules of these talks, in addition to the park map.
The minimum estimated visit time to see the park and the talks is approximately 3 hours.

The park really isn’t the biggest and there isn’t overly much to do but what is there is amazing!
You MUST make sure you attend the attractions, they have a dolphin show which was just unbelievable, I’ve never seen anything like it before and they also allow you into the Saimiri enclosure where you get to see monkeys and other animals up close in person!
Highly recommend booking online beforehand, until 7th Jan 2024 you can get in 2 for 1 if you book through the website which we did which definitely gave us value for our money!
I would definitely revisit!

This was an amazing experience and so happy I came here. There was a live dolphin show which told you facts about then and you got to see amazing tricks about them. I watched the show twice and I saw different tricks in the shows, so they weren't the same. If you wanted to there was an additional fee to go and play with the dolphins and you could take a photo with them. There was a penguin show which taught you about the different species, an exotic bird show so you could take pictures and different birds flying above your head, which was funny. There was also a walk through bird enclosure so you could see the birds up close!!! There was flamingos, seals, snakes, parrots, lizards etc I would definitely recommend coming here!!!

Don't waste your money. I came here 12 years ago pre kids and had the best time, the dolphin show was amazing so I brought my children here to share the experience and it was a complete disappointment. On the day they cancelled the shows so we asked to go back the next day which they said yes. We went back the following day and the dolphin show which is the main attraction took about 9 minutes and the trainers put little to no effort in, we were shown about 3 tricks and a few facts were thrown in - not really worth going back for. It's a really expensive day out for not a lot. Completely disappointed. Spend your money on a boat trip to see them in their natural habitat, was much more fun!

Saludos cordiales

Big disappointment! after 10 years I was in the dolphinarium again. we paid 105 euros for each of the 4 children to swim and/or interact with dolphins. they basically didn't get close to the dolphins, after they were half waist deep in the water, they had some kind of lecture about dolphins. maybe interesting. but this was definitely not worth 105 euros! I definitely do not recommend it.
however, what really pissed me off was the fact that I couldn't take a photo of the children with the dolphins. photography, only by professional photographers. if you didn't like such photos, you're out of luck, you missed the moment! At every corner, whether taking pictures with seals or dolphins or refreshments, they drew money from you like crazy despite the fact that the entrance itself was not cheap. I'm not even surprised that they were half empty, as if they were punishing those who came for not having more guests. The penguin show did not take place and the dolphin show cannot be compared to what they did 10-20 years ago. no jumps. no circles, no ball game. just swimming from lifeguard to lifeguard. I don't know why they have that ladder above the pool, from which they used to hold a circle so that the dolphin would jump out. it is a pity. Because animals are amazing! But the desire to make money at any cost destroyed everything!

We enjoyed seeing all the animals, the penguins were so lovely and fascinating to watch.
We booked a Dolphin encounter 2 adults, 8 year old and a 6year old (8 year old was same price as an adult) €77 per adult €44 child , also had to pay entry (6 of us entered) The whole day cost around £350.
What a huge disappointment and absolute con for your money! I was so gutted for us, especially our Children. You weren’t allowed to touch the Dolphin, and literally just stood there listening to someone telling you about the dolphins and watching the trainer do 3 tricks and feed the dolphin some fish, waited ages for the experience to take place on hot concrete, and the experience lasted at the most 15 minutes. The pictures and details on website are false advertising in my opinion.
After having done a dolphin experience in Dominican which was amazing, I was so annoyed this was a poor experience.
The photos which were taken, were rubbish as well, so we didn’t purchase these.
My opinion don’t bother!
