What a landscape

Don't have enough words to describe it. Beautiful, amazing, peaceful... this is a hidden gem. Worth the trek.

This is described by many as "deserted", "amazing" and a "hidden gem". Well, if you have been stuck behind a long queue of small hire cars on the very long and rough track over the mountain to get here you will quickly realise that it is neither likely to be "deserted" or "hidden". Also if there has been any kind... More

An amazing place. Truly one of the last untouched places on earth. Magificent beach which you have to drive a dirt track road for 15kms or so but when you get your first view of the beach it is completely breathtaking. Must be experienced

If there is one trip you must take it's on the Unimog from Morro Jable to Cofete. An experience like no other. The track is very rough but the ride in the Unimog is fantastic. The scenery is out of this world and as you descend from the mountain pass and view the coast at Cofete with its golden sand... More

The most impressive landscapes in Fuerte: mountains, massive beach and wilderness. The place to go if you want to experience the untouched nature of the island. The drive to Cofete is just amazing, and as soon as the drive eases past the mountains on the way up it just feels like landing on another planet. Just absolutely beautiful!

Second visit here and what can I say !!! Never fails to take the breath away !!! One of the most beautiful beaches in the world !!! The back drop of volcanic mountains is breathtaking. Not meant to swim because of strong undercurrents but every one does ! The lure of the surf is to much !!! The road down... More

Go here with either a tour or a good off raid 4x4. Interesting history and possible connections to Second World War German occupation but you will find it hard to follow up without a guide.

We took our rental car on the off road tracks up to the beautiful view looking down across Cofete beach. We parked up at the view point for about half an hour taking photos and enjoying the scenery before descending down to beach car park, looking out for lots of wildlife on the way. We spent our day sun bathing,... More

This is a place of almost undamaged natural beauty. Please also visit the old cemetery and the villa Winter, which could have an unusual history.... Sadly the weather is not always perfect over there.

5th most beautiful beach in the world. Huge Atlantic breakers, NOT SAFE FOR SWIMMING due to 9kph under current. Worth the visit for scenery alone. If you travel in a hire car, make sure the insurance covers you for the unpaved roads, as any damage or recovery is at your own expense
