It was mid afternoon when we got there and had thought it would be a good idea to visit this place to see what it was about and possibly do some souvenir shopping. Found shops to be the same, selling imported, cheap knockoffs and restaurants were limited and uninviting. We were harassed walking past shops because we were female, we... More

A very wide collection of bars and restaurants, with something suitable for everyone. There are not so many street-sellers in Yumbo compared to other tourist spots, and search around for two-for-one offers or Happy Hours.

This is more of a tat cheap souvenir centre which covers the the middle floor with bars etc on bottom floor. If you are after your funny t-shirts or blatantly knocked off rebranded stuff just go to the first shop you see as they are all the same....there are much better shopping centres a short walk away.

Well worth a visit. Cannot possibly cover it all in one visit. Definitely worth coming back to see Rickys Cabaret Bar and Sparkles. Had many a great night in the bars just people watching. Be careful with Passion Loca though... They sometimes use the cheaper version of shorts that taste like water. Avoid if you can...

Always surprised how busy this place is throughout the week. I heard they quiet down in June after gay pride & before school holiday starts. Otherwise it's jam pack every night. It's got shops restaurants bars & clubs. So the whole evening entertainment sorted. Mind you this is definitely gay central, & everything geared towards pink money. Don't expect sophistication,... A wide range of shops and bars however the layout is very confusing as sometimes you come to dead ends or the back of businesses clearer instructions would be better

The Yumbo is very geared to gay clientelle. By day, perhaps not so much....it functions as a multi level "entertainment centre": shops, bars, restaurants, clubs. As night falls, the bars, clubs and drag act places hold sway and if that sounds like your scene then you'll probably like it. It's not exactly a charming place in terms of architecture, but... The Yumbo is huge centre with plenty of shops, bars and places to eat. The only thing we didn't like was you couldn't look at anything without pushy store owners harassing you, which totally put me off buying anything.
