The course starters are some of the friendliest on the island. They cannot do enough for you and make you feel very welcome. I wouldn't recommend booking an afternoon tee time here in the winter as the greens get full of unrepaired pitch marks and golf shoe scuffs around the holes.
I must have repaired 30 other pitch marks over 18 holes and spent many minutes tapping down scuff marks on the greens. The bunkers are excellent and are really good to play out of.
All in all an excellent course with some challenging holes.
The course is in a lot better condition in the summer months when it gets less traffic.

We really appreciate you taking the time to repair pitch marks during your round as it helps us keep the greens in good condition. Our greenkeeping team works hard every day to repair tee marks as part of their daily routine. However, we also rely on the cooperation of our players as repairing pitch marks is an important part of golf etiquette. We are particularly focused on minimising this issue in the afternoons, when traffic tends to be heavier, and our team devotes time to reducing this risk.

Have played the course many times over the last 10 years. The 5 round ticket is good value for money. Staff were very friendly, and it was obvious they were going out their way to welcome people back.
The big letdown for the course ..... there is no check on handicaps or ability to play. It's a sad day when your buggy tells you that you are 11 minutes behind your time when sitting in the middle of the first fairway waiting to play your 2nd shot due to the game in front. They had already lost nearly 2 holes from the game in front.
It appears that the club is chasing €s by packing the course . This has been common practice for years. This year was the worst by far. With the exception of 1 round when we played with a father and son who played to their handicaps, we were either playing with or directly behind complete beginners or non golfers.
Will seriously reconsider golfing options if the club doesn't start taking action on golfers' ability to play the course.

Thank you for your detailed feedback and continued support over the years. We really appreciate your kind words about our friendly staff and are glad to know that the 5-round ticket offers good value.
We deeply regret that you experienced slow play during your round and we fully understand how frustrating this can be. To address this, we implemented a number of measures to improve the pace of play. We increased the tee time interval from 8 to 10 minutes, removed 3 tee time slots (first tee time starts at 08:00) and also extended the tee time slots for our hotel guests from 9am to 12pm. We are also constantly monitoring the pace of play and the flow of buggies with a speed of play software system, which is managed directly from our starter's hut. We also always try to control the handicaps of the players to ensure that the course is played at an appropriate level.
We hope that we can continue to earn your trust and keep you coming back. We are always striving to improve and provide you with a more enjoyable golfing experience. We look forward to welcoming you again soon.

We know this course pretty well and always had a good golfing experience there.
This time - however - was a little different. The course was not in the best of shapes, it has become more and more expensive throughout the years.
It rained the night before and the management decided to ban all carts which was ridiculous as the course was dry. And they charged us 10 Euros for a shabby pulltrolley.

Pleasant, quite well maintained (considering the occupancy) golf course.
It's a shame that beginners or fast beginners also go on the circuit here, which is not very conducive to the flow of the game.
The staff at the reception and shop are friendly and helpful, which unfortunately you can't say in the restaurant. It's too bad.

Have played the golf course many times over the years. Fantastic experience, challenging but fair and in good condition considering the constant use. Friendly and very helpful staff.
As a golfer who prefers to walk,the only downside is the extremely poor quality of the pull trollies. An upgrade to lightweight 3 wheel push trollies would be a very welcome addition.
Considering the revenue generated on a daily basis I’m sure this would be well within the budget.

A series of interesting holes. Greens in poor condition. Pre-greens, too. Even with huge bunkers only a rake. We had a special offer for 309 euros with lunch. Avoid eating at all costs. Too expensive for the quality of the place.

Good course a bit expensive but expected in such a prime spot. I have rated it poor because first of all I booked me and my son for 18 holes showed up at correct time and was told they double booked but accommodated us and sent us along with another 2 golfers. This obviously slowed progress somewhat. I then had a very ignorant golfer come up behind and blame us on being too slow. I ignored him and played on. We then later had let the other 2 golfers play on and when we got to back 9 had person from course come us to us and also say we are playing too slow. At this point there was absolutely nobody insight but the four infront of us who we caught within the next 2 holes. Nothing was said to this party so just felt a bit victimised.

It use to be a nice experience to visit this course. But now you just feel like a cow being milked out of money. 10 min tee time is way too tight for this course and the average (and OLD) holiday golfers playing it. The wait will start on hole 2 and then increase A LOT during your 18 hole round. No one is letting through anyone behind because the course is overcrowded.
Golf course quality is ok, not bad but nothing special either.
Green fee of €125 is way too much for this average and annoying golf experience. First visit no water tank, no service on the course and the main putting green by the tee was closed. €85 for a twilight time (should be cheaper than 30% off). 10€ for a simple old trolley, €1 for approx 10 golf balls on the range… No, this is just pure greed from the (new?) management. We will not return!

We are sorry to hear that your experience on our course was not satisfactory. We apologise if the pace of play does not allow you to enjoy your experience here. However, with all due respect to you and our players, we would like to respond to some of your comments which are inaccurate.
-As far as the pace of play is concerned, it is much improved compared to the past and we have taken several measures over the past two years to speed up the game in the high season: the game interval has been extended to 10 minutes (more than before and more than other courses), 3 early tee times have been eliminated and the protected hours for our hotel guests have been extended. So the pace of play is smooth.
And if a flight is slow, our marshals will be on the course to help clear the way and speed up play.
- About the prices: These are the usual prices for courses in the Canary Islands. There are cheaper courses on the island as well as more expensive ones. We recommend that you book through our website, as this is the best way to play on our course and you will get the best deal. Regarding the number of balls on the driving range, it is not true what you say, it is double the number of balls.
- As for the ownership, it is the same as always.

Treatment by staff in Las Americas golf is disappointing. Again we had problems again, everytime you go, there’s problem.
Took a group last year and Las Americas emailed me this offer and cost per head, they tried adding additional costs for no reason, which we refused to accept. After 30 minutes, they refused the difference. Also the lunch offering changes when members play, but they only offered us spaghetti bolognaise and chicken lunches in the deal, but the offering changes with members. Guests paid 200€ for an offer on the Saturday, then 227€ on Wednesday for the same offer.
Finally we played last Wednesday and Saturday, staff refused to honour
Course is overpriced and average at best, plus you’ve better venues like Adeje, Golf Del Sur or Amarilla, strongly suggest you avoid this place, hence my comments and I’m not going back now.

We were staying close by so decided to play a couple of rounds at this course and was not disappointed. It is a lovely course and had some challenging holes for myself as I’m not a low handicap player. We were playing as a couple so you were put with another couple of players. We also had a cart which was helpful when playing in the heat. The staff were very efficient and professional the clubhouse was lovely with a very nice terrace overlooking the 18th green. I really recommend you play this course although it is quite expensive per person if playing November to March as it’s classed as high season for golf players.

Indeed it depends on tee times of the season. The last 18-hole tee time is from 2:04pm (November/December) until 2:44pm in March. Currently, in February, it is 14:28. It depends on the sunlight.
That's why after the last 18-hole tee time you can only play 9 holes or the Twilight rate (30% off because we do not guarantee that you can finish the 18 holes before sunset).
About the golf clubs, we have 4 brands. Depending on the brand will be worth more or less. It is not necessary to reserve in advance because we have enough (only if you are left-handed). We recommend that you visit our website, you will find all the prices.

Yes, active handicap is required to play at Golf Las Américas (28 gents/36 ladies).
We ask the handicap to agencies and tour operators, or hotel reservations. However the online system doesn't allow to check the hcp for online reservations, that's why when you come to play if you don't have the certificate with you and you're a very high handicap, our marshalls will make a test in the driving range, especially in high season, to avoid slow play.
