Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This place is amazing. Except the fact the black sand is burning your feet everything else is just great. My daughter loved playing with the sand.
The beach is clean and well maintained. It was a good experience.

Perfect place for those who like waves, but less comfortable for kids due to the wind with sand. If start blowing - raising very quickly and lot of people leaving the beach with towels and personal things full with it.

a small beach, as if everything is fine, but there are a lot of stones at the entrance to the water, be careful, yes, this is the very center of las americas, but not the best place to relax

A big patch of this beach has got a lot of pebbles so mostly nobody use this side. The other side is much better with all the facilities. You can get a sunbed with parasol for 6 euro. However the promenade has got a lot of restaurants and bars which are very popular with tourists. The ambience on promenade is very lively in the evening.
Worth visiting...

We made the obligatory trip to the beach during our holiday to tenerife and Troya just to happened to be the closest to where we were at the time and so that's where we ended up.

It was relatively busy during the Sunday in June we visited but still plenty of sun beds available for €6 each. The beach is nice, very scenic and great for paddling. There's ample bars and restaurants just a few minutes walk away and a little hut on the beach selling ice creams, soft drinks and alcohol for a reasonable price.

The only downside are the vendors. If it's not a woman wanting to braid your hair it's another woman wanting to give you a massage or a man wanting to make you a cocktail or a different man wanting to sell you doughnuts. It is just relentless and virtually impossible to relax as you're disturbed every 35 seconds. You can't ignore them, they'll stand two inches away from your face, even touch to you, to get you to open your eyes and pay them attention and some of them (especially the massage women) need to be told no 5 times before they'll accept it (and then they'll still come back 5 minutes later and ask again). They really ruined it for me and I would've left after an hour if it was up to me however the children in our group were really enjoying their beach day. Everyone has to make a living and I'm sure there are plenty of people who would love a massage on the beach or a drink bought straight to their sunlounger but the pushiness really made me uncomfortable. We didn't bother visiting again after that.

There are several ‘Chinese’ offering massages on the beach. I have no issue with this…. BUT… I am on the beach now, have just seen one of the women pull her trouser and knickers down by the rocks, and pee!!!! Now she’s going to massage someone with her hand after urinating on the beach! Honestly! Disgusting. When I told her what I had seen, she pretended not to speak/understand English… funny that - she understood/spoke English yesterday!
