Great tourist destination for a weekend or week. Beautiful rivers for water recreation, big variety of attractions, historic downtown, loads of specialty shops, outlet mall too! Many festivals throughout the year and convenient to both Austin and San Antonio and their attractions, as well.

This town has alot to offer from events to farmers markets. The farmers market on Saturdays is wonderful because you can always pick your local famers produce and honey. We visited here by parking and walking the streets around this park including the old Court House and the coffee shops as well as several shops. This is great leisure walk in a real Texas town.

A gem about 25 miles north of San Antonio, is definitely worth your visit if you are in the area. It has not only the best water park in the US but lots of other fun stuff to do for families....

For those of you that remember the Andy Griffith show; welcome to downtown New Braunfels. There is a pretty gazebo in the park. Surrounding the park are quaint coffee cafes and delicious bakeries. Growing out from downtown is a vibrant city that has something for all ages. Last but not least...TUBING! Come see what that is and you'll love it.

We enjoyed a couples get away and will be coming back. There's so much to enjoy here; b&b's, wine tasting, charming restaurants, antiques, live music venues.....

We did find our very first GEO-CACHE in this little town, so we will probably always remember it best for that. Downtown looks like it would be fun to explore, but I was alone with kids, so we did the things I thought they would enjoy most, since it was just a day trip.

This was and still is a German town. Not all speak German, but most can speak a few words. They have the oldest pastry shop in Texas and it is great. I had to try a few things and I did. If your familiar with the Texas Country Reporter, he was there while I was eating. It was one of... More

We spent an afternoon in relaxing and quaint New Braunfels while passing through this area. New Braunfels is a popular Texas tourist town that was founded in 1845 by a group of German farmers and craftsmen. New Braunfels is an easy drive from major Texas cities. Austin is 40 miles to the north, San Antonio is 25 miles to the... More
