Visited the Nature Preserve and walked the trails, went out by the water at Dusk and saw lots of Dolphins up close, wonderful experience my children will always remember.

This is a large nature preserve with gravel paths and a boardwalk. It is a great place to see birds. However, there is very little shade, and lots of bugs. I recommend going early in the day and be sure to bring water.

I thought there would be more to it. We went in the middle of the day so it was super hot. We saw one pelican and one red-winged blackbird. We didn't stay very long because my kids had already gotten too much sun at the...More

Good to place to go to get away from the crowds. You get to see lots of beautiful birds. Just remember to bring the bug spray.

Pulled in here after dinner just in time to catch the sunset. Stunningly beautiful. Hope we have time to come back and walk the trail on this trip. This is a neat place!

Port A is one of my favorite Texas getaways. But I had not discovered this lovely nature center until this evening. Very well maintained. Good trails. If you need a break from the beach, go to Charlie's ranch. Nature lovers will love it.

The directions on the map are not correct. You have to take the road along the channel behind the convenience store near the ferry. At the end is the shelter house. We go there almost every morning to walk. Best when there is a breeze...More

You'll see birds everywhere along the trail, but I recommend going as far as you can on the longest trail. We saw white pelicans, several herons, several types of ducks, and numerous different shorebird species. The best part is that many of the birds let...More
