Took a day trip to enjoy the environment, with a special interest in birds. We'd heard about the Big Tree, so started our visit there. A good start! Then went on to see the bird feeders in Warbler Way. Its a well appointed set of feeders, attracting a wide range of interesting birds, from Inca Doves to Ladderback Woodpeckers. Later... More

This is our second trip to Goose Island State Park. There are great sites in either the wooded area or by the water. We are nature lovers, so enjoyed the bird walks conducted by Les and Jane, the volunteers. Also close to Rockport for shopping, laundry, movies and the Fulton Mansion. Wonderful place to see shorebirds! Office staff were also... More

This is an absolutely beautiful place. The large pier is where we spent most of the day. We managed to catch a dolphin feeding frenzy, which was awesome! We also saw some beautiful birds and of course the Big Tree! It was an extremely windy day so we didn't do much fishing. We will absolutely be back!

When we asked what to visit in the Rockport area, we were told to visit "The Big Tree" at Goose Island State Park". The drive to get this was very scenic if you come up from the south of Rockport on route 35 that runs along the Gulf. Once you get there you will see a grove of trees with... More

Absolutely love this place. This is the only place I've found you can park your rv right on the water front, fish, and just sit in your lawn chair in a cement gazebo and watch the sun set. They have electricity and water but no sewer. They do have a dump station. They offer wooded spots (haven't tried) and beach... More

If you enjoy castin your reel, you'll enjoy backing your RV up against a niced paved pad and the Gulf of Mexico. Goose Island State Park is located in a quiet, clean, and accomodating spot. Close to Rockport which is home to a number of good resteraunts. The only drawback thatI have is the lack of wifi access, which I... More

Have driven through the park twice. Scenic and interesting. Fascinating 1000+ year old tree. Park facilities, decent boat ramp. Worth visiting.

We love this place. We saw endangered Whooping Cranes and a Roseate Spoonbill along with probably another 100 bird species. The gate attendant was friendly and helpful in directing to us where these had been last seen. The park is clean and the areas are well-marked. We will be back.
