Beautiful art imitating real life. The colors and detail was amazing. The sea creatures were to scale and very realist.

Wyland's collection of wonderful walls. Love his work. Looking at the walls at South Padre Island is like being in an art museum. You can't help but stand and watch every detail of the whales and the sea turtles and all sea lWatching the walls are so real it's mezmerizing like staring into an aquarium and watching the whales swim.... Nice paintings on the side of the convention hall. Not sure I get the killer whales since they are not from the Gulf. But pretty none the less.

I was told to go to the end of the island and look at the convention center where the Wyland Whale wall is. This is one of 100 life size murals in the world to expand appreciation of aquatic wildlife. The wall is stunning and a must see!

It's just a wall with a whale so don't expect too much. The painting was nice though. It's located at the Convention Center.

A very realistic full wall mural at the convention center. One side has Orca whales and another dolphins and sea turtles. Makes for a great vacation photo opportunity. Right next to the whaling wall is the entrance to the Laguna Madra Nature Trail where you can walk the boardwalk to encounter birds; fish; turtles; crabs etc in their natural habitat.

unusual mural wall at the local convention center - also known for birding on their boardwalk which is adjacent to the Birding Center, and their resident alligator

This is large painting on part of the convention center that wraps around the building. The details in the painting are amazing and the colors are so bright and vivid. Worth a gander if you are in the area!!
