Seems to be very family friendly. Pretty park, very peaceful. Easy trails, nothing extravagant, but nice.

A very pretty place to relax and recharge. The hiking trails are also beautiful but not well signed. Lots of quite shady spots on a hot day.

The Guadalupe River State Park is right down the road from my house. We often take family from out of town to enjoy the river and have a picnic.

I just spent this weekend at the Guadalupe River in TX, and I definitely recommend this place for everybody , the river itself is beautiful , clean and not dangerous at all if you act responsibly . It could be crowded during the big summer holidays but , everybody is relaxed and looking to have a peaceful time.

I live close by and often the wife and I go there in the afternoon after work just to relax. It's a great place to visit during the week and away from major holidays when it gets incredibly crowded. Be aware that during the dry season there might be a burn ban in the county, therefore you can't use the... More

Just a short drive from San Antonio TX Guadalupe State Park is an oasis from the traffic in the city. Our family and our dog spent the day there doing some hiking and playing in the river. Water levels can change depending on rain fall and season, however it was clean and clear when we were there. Lots of camping... More

The river is gorgeous. The flow depends on water height, and is not controlled by the Army Corp of Engineers like some nearby spots, so you need to check beforehand if you plan to kayak, float, or canoe. The water is clean, usually shallow enough to stand, and usually pretty calm. A good spot for younger swimmers.

We camped in our popup. We had a very nice spot. The campsites are spread out so we were not right next to our neighbor. The park rangers were very nice, but need to communicate with one another. The river was clean and refreshing. great hiking with nice trails. I wish people would pick up after themselves. There was a... More

Summer time in Texas gets hot! If you have a state park pass be sure to check this out. Depending on the current rain fall the river will be low or high. Either way, great for swimming and exploring. Bring a tube, kayak or just swim about. Bathroom house is very convenient. Come for an hour or stay all day.
