A pristine beach for TEXAS! Built a small fire, popped some chairs and enjoyed a Sunday evening just listening to the waves. PLEASE clean-up after your visit!

I discovered this beach on a drive to Mississippi. I fell in love. Depending on what your looking for, this beach could be amazing, or not so much. I was there in July and back in August. I spent 5 weeks camping ⛺️ on Surfside...More

Beach right at Surfside gets very crowded, the Ocean Village Hotel Restaurant is very good. We drove down a bit to the public park and it was a bit less crowded but parking was very limited and the beach houses dont want you parking on...More

Everyone was friendly, beach stayed fairly clean with so many families there -- drivers were nice and the beach was lovely. Not much seaweed. Water smelled nice -- not icky or dirty and was not TOO hot. Really great experience.

We visit family in Kemah every year and have visited a lot of the beaches on Boliver Peninsula and Galveston Island. This beach wasn’t as crowded and has cleaner sand and water despite all the car traffic. Our Friday visit wasn’t to crowded until later...More

Considering the proximity to Galveston or Houston, this is a great beach. Yes it does get crowded on weekends and looks like a parking lot at times. I was impressed at how clean it was considering the large numbers of people that were there. There...More

This beach allows you to drive on but you better have 4 wheel drive. There is also a fee. Beach can be stinky at times and seaweed wash up can be excessive sometimes but the people watching is magnificent.
