Every twist and turn brought more spectacular views..vistas of all hues of rocks, bluffs, canyons, often with snowy mountains in background.Very little traffic..we counted 4 cars on one 50 mile stretch, so we're able to slow/ stop/ take photos/ walk around etc without traffic problems

Stunning scenery all along the highway and very quiet on the road too! Stop at Hite Overlook for a view of the Colorado River and valley below, absolutely breathtaking in scale!

Took this road as well as many others on a motorcycle trip through the southwest. This whole area blew me away! I get goose bumps just writing about it.

Along this beUtahful stretch of uninhabited highway, enjoy the peace and solitude of long open stretches of highway. Stop and see the beginning of Glen Canyon National recreation area. Stop and hike under natural bridges, thorugh slot canyons and see well preserved ruins.

This stretch of State Highway is perhaps the most scenic routes you could take. There are so many historic sites, geological wonders, trails, vistas, monuments, ancient indian ruins, and points of interest to see in less than 80 miles. There is literally a lifetime of exploration waiting for the adventurist.

I had no idea that the stretch of road from Hanksville would be so beautiful. It started out simply as desert and cow pasture and quickly turned into one amazing rock formation and canyon after another. We did not leave time for hiking into some of the canyon trails and that's regretful. On the stretch from Kane Gulch to Blanding,... More

Jaw dropping views around every bend. The vista is enormous and full of color and beauty. Stop at Natural Bridges on the way for great geological formations.

We travelled the stretch between Natural Bridges National Monument and Blanding having spent many hours driving in Utah but we never tired of the scenery. The road was generally quiet and apart from one trash lorry shedding garbage along the highway ☹️ thoroughly enjoyed the trip.

OK, I have lived in utah all my life and had never been on this stretch of road. Although it was fall recess for Utah school kids, we literally saw half a dozen cars on this stretch of road. It was really gorgeous. If you want to experience the beauty of southern utah without the crowds that accompany the national... More

If you like rock formations, we which we do, this a gorgeous drive from Blanding to Capitol Reef. There was little traffic so we could drive slow where we wanted to to have more time to look at the great rock formations along the way. We drove to the campground and marina at Hite, which was disappointing as the lake... More
