Once again, I'm amazed at the landscape beauty that is in the USA. We traveled May 15th, the first day allowed for parking on the side of the road to hike the trails, or climb the mountains or ice fields. Spectacular drive! We drove through...More

We spent quite a bit of time here in January. We skied, hiked and snowshoed and every experience was incredible. The drive alone through Big Cottonwood Canyon was stunning each visit. The highlights were hiking the Lake Blanche trail with micro spikes, snowshoeing from the...More

Beautiful area right outside SLC. Lots of varied outdoor activities, trails, picnic spots etc. These are real mountains...be prepared for drastic weather changes. Bring water. Take nothing but pictures, leave nothing but footprints.

Hard to characterize, except to say that there are many varied acrtivities available: hiking, fishing, wildlife from birds to ground squirrels to coyotes to moose, picnicking, mountain biking, skiing, and just enjoying beautiful nature, including several significant waterfalls..

A nice summer day in SLC and we drove out the forest to picnic and hike. We had an amazing time and the 30-degree temperature drop at the top made it a great adventure. I would come back here again and again.

This drive was part of our hike at Guardsmen Pass. We stopped at Silver Fork Lodge for lunch which was a winner. The rock formations through the canyon were incredible. I can imagine doing the drive in the fall would be equally rewarding.

We drove through Wasatch-Cache National Forest. It was a gorgeous sunny day. The upper elevations still had snow on the peaks. The trees were beautiful. We visited on Fourth of July weekend.

Really didn't get a chance to experience the forest as we basically just drove up to Silver Forks Lodge for dinner, but the scenery was very beautiful. Would we go back? Yes.
