There is not much to do as the area is pretty void of civilization. The one stop I could recommend is Goblin valley which is a Utah state park. There are also slot canyons in the area which I find very cool but not sure... More

I refilled my hydro flask with the potable water & found it fine to drink. But you probably know that it’s fine since your post is from 2017.
