This site shows the gumption and strength of American pioneers. Though not a pioneer Josie lived the lifestyle, solo, and braved the elements to live a 19th century life well into the 20th century.

This pioneer woman really had some stamina to put herself out there, build a cabin, and grow vegetables, and raise cattle. Quite an undertaking. It was great.
