Description:

Best Friends Animal Society is the only national animal welfare...

Best Friends Animal Society is the only national animal welfare organization focused exclusively on ending the killing of dogs and cats in America's shelters. An authority and leader in the no-kill movement, Best Friends runs the nation's largest no-kill sanctuary for companion animals, as well as lifesaving programs in partnership with rescue groups and shelters across the country. Since its founding in 1984, Best Friends has helped reduce the number of animals killed in shelters nationwide from 17 million per year to about 4 million. That means there are still over 9,000 dogs and cats killed in shelters each day. And we will not be done until that number is zero. Best Friends has the knowledge, technical expertise and on-the-ground network to end the killing and Save Them All(R).

Quite amazing, this sanctuary for dogs, cats and a array of other animals. Take the time to do the tour. You will leave with a renewed sense of good that people who love animals can do. Volunteer if you have the time. There is so much to see and do around the area if you love outdoor activities.

The video for visitors before the tour is very informative and helped to enjoy the tour more. We saw all areas of this beautiful sanctuary, up close and personal with some dogs and cats. Truly a must visit in this magnificent area of Utah.

Learned so much! All the staff positive, kind and informative. Salad bar was fantastic! Slept well at night from working hard during the day! Volunteered in every section to get the whole picture. Everything is kept clean and the animals act happy. Support them any way you can!

My husband and I traveled from Pittsburgh to volunteer here a number of years ago as part of a vacation to Bruce, Zion and Grand Canyon. It is still something that we talk about. Any fears that we had about seeing sad situations involving animals were dissolved once we witnessed this organization in action. There are over a 1000 animals... More

I didn't know what this was as I was driving past on my way to the Grand Canyon. My wife (a certified veterinary technician) told me we had to stop. It was the right call, we took a tour of the property with our 1.5 year old son and had the opportunity to see how well the animals are cared... More

This place is amazing and in need of off season help. Please do take a tour and learn about the wonderful job this place does and learn of ways you can help. I understand summer volunteerism is healthy though in winter not so much. Do not deny yourself the opportunity to understand and help this sanctuary. What a wonderful place.

We wanted to do something different for Christmas, so we decided to volunteer Christmas Eve and Day. I made plans a month ahead of time and you choose where you want to help out. You do need your own transportation to get around. Checked into Dog town and then they send you where you would like to go, be it... More

The work that this place does is amazing and much of it is done by volunteers. However be aware of a few things: 1. The sanctuary is very spread out so you must drive everywhere. The two hour grand tour of the sanctuary is really about an hour and there is little opportunity to interact with the animals (there are... More

Thank you for stopping by and sharing this feedback. We're so sorry to hear your visit did not meet the high standards that most of our visitors and volunteers have come to love about the Sanctuary. We strive to give every visitor and volunteer a pleasant experience and introduce them to the lifesaving work that we do here. You're correct--on... More

One of my personal favorite places on earth! You can tour the facility or volunteer there. While volunteering at Best Friends you will have the opportunity to work in an area you appreciate. whether it be birds, horses, dogs, etc. you will be placed to your liking. There are two daily shifts. I enjoy the days, but my true love,... More
