We debated taking a trip to Kannarra Falls when planning our trip to Zion, but looking back, I'm SO glad we did it. The first mile into the trail is pretty boring and I got a little nervous, but once you started to approach the slot canyon and enter the river, it because so amazing. I like that this hike is maxed at 150 hikers per day to keep the hordes of people at a minimum. I would definitely make a trip back here!

I hiked this hike with a 5yo, 8yo, and three teens. It takes a solid hour to reach the slot and the path is not well marked. Follow the river! We wore Teva sandals which made the multiple river crossings easier. The slot is just beautiful and worth the hike. There are a series of waterfalls, the first of which has a questionable ladder. My 5yo slipped and almost fell. However, after a week of exploring Utah parks, this hike was named the favorite by all 5 of my children! Bring cash for parking, snacks, and plenty of water. Watch the weather and remember it's not a loop, you trace your steps to get out.

Water in September is freezing but nice weather for hike. Wearing Keen water sandals all the way from the parking to the falls. Great for older kids and teenagers as well. Buying permit online in advance is highly recommended(Limited only 150 Hikers per day and no dog, no young kids allowed) Do not hike this trail if it's raining or if there is a threat of thunderstorms in the area. Parking is very limited - not too much space. Please prepared

I was looking for exciting things to do to have my teens (15 & 19) actually experience the beauty of God's creation. This little known gem was awesome! Hiking along and through the creek to the falls and slot canyon was it! They limit hikers to 150/day so you hardly see anyone else on the trail.

I have done slots all over Southern Utah, and this is one of the easiest to get to. You do now have to have reservations I hear, but not sure how to do it. Very beautiful, kids can do it if they can walk a couple miles - you have to walk in the sun about a half mile before you get in to the shade of the canyon. I have done this with grandkids, Scouts, and Waterpolo teams - great couple hour break if you are in the area and tired of driving I-15.
