It was dark upon arrival. The signs showing where to go to check in were not visable in the dark. The parking closed to registration was extremely far from available parking. Once we paid a ridiculous extra resort fee we got our keys. We went to our room in the red cottage building. It was 20 degrees outside. We opened... More

The Crater at the homestead is an experience like you'll never have anywhere else. Deep in a crater houses a warm spring of constantly rotating water so the water smells barely sulferic. You are give a life jacket so you can peacefully float around. Often a scuba class is going on. Great place to soak, float, dive, or snorkel in.... More

While staying in Park City for a week in early November we traveled to the crater for an afternoon. We were lucky to get in we did not reserve in advance. Our whole family enjoyed and felt so great after. All the staff was very friendly, Eddy was great host while we visited. Pool feels warmer than specified temp and good... More

My husband and I did the crater soak/swim. You reserve a time in advance, show up a bit early to check in (and change if need be), then you don a life jacket (required of all), and step down the ladder into the large, incredibly deep "hot tub" with about 25 other people. We had 25 soakers plus about 7... More

We went to view the inside, & to look up out of the Crater. We found friendly people swimming in the water & having an R&R time. They invited us to come swim with them, & enjoy the warm water & the relaxed feeling they were experiencing, unfortunately we didn't have our swimsuits.

Be sure you wear flip flops - no bare feet! All underground, so, dark, dank, smelly, but very interesting. There are scuba diving lessons/certification going on while others are swimming or relaxing in the hot springs. We took 3 generations of family there and all enjoyed it. Just wish we didn't have to make appointments and have so little time... More

I own a pretty busy dive shop. I use the crater for my students to practice and get certified. Is a really unique place not only for divers but also to spend a day with family and friends. The water is very warm which is perfect for cold snowy winter days. The depth is 60 feet so is perfect for... More

We decided to do a couple of "Utah things" over UEA. The crater was something we hadn't done. The kids got bored pretty quickly but I thought from a natural wonder it was fascinating. I did wonder if that water ever filters out or if we were soaking in decades of people's dirt. The man at the front desk was... More
