We stopped here on the way back from Parowan Gap. Dinosaur tracks were highlighted on a short, easy to access trail. Our walk was enhanced as we happened to meet an interesting local man who shared his knowledge of the area and the process that took place to preserve these tracks. If you haven't stopped at a site like this,... More

While there are only a few petrified dinosaur tracks to find after a short walk on gravel paths, the geology of the area is fascinating. Be sure to read the information sign and observe the rocks made from compressed volcanic ash and sand.

I was expecting to see more footprints, but the ones I did see were pretty apparent and little markers shaped like the prints show you where they are. Unfortunately some have worn down or cracked off due to the weather. It's a neat place for family and an easy walk around the paths. I wish the paths were better marked,... More

A good thing the footprints we're marked, otherwise we may have missed these 3 toed Dinosaurs. Make sure you look up the cliff for eagles nest and other birds. This was a nice diversion off I 15, you can spend 15 minutes or several hours. One of the few places we visits that didn't require a lot of hiking.

On our way to Salt Lake City we stopped in Cedar City for a night. The next day we packed up the car and drove to Parowan Gap. It is only 30 minutes north-west of Cedar City. If you go from Cedar City you will arrive at the Petroglyphs site first. You can walk to the dinosaur footprints but I... More

Take a quick side trip off of I-15 east of Parowan to see these Dinosaur Footprints and also the Parowan Gap Petroglyphs. You could rush in less time, but take an hour overall to see both. Several footprints are well marked. Hopefully the site will be respected since there are no barriers or protection of the fossilized footprints. To get... More
