This monument commemorates one of the defining moments in the colonies struggle for independence. Historically, it should be of interest to all Americans. It is a beautiful site and for those who are interested, they can take the elevator to the top of the monument.

We were able to pass by the Bennington Battle Monument, and check out the statues and historical plaques. Unfortunately the Monument was not open so we were not able to go inside.

There was no-one else here when we arrived and unfortunately as we were after 5pm we couldn't go up the monument. Lovely peaceful setting with a colourful moose by the monument.

I went up in the monument and the view of Bennington was great. There isn't much to do there but the 360 degree view of Bennington is very nice. There is a nice little gift shop and the restrooms are nice and clean.

Enjoyed it especially because free today. Today was the date of the battle. Monument very ok. Took elevator to top. See as far as Mt. Greylock in MA. Good information in bookstore and guide. Reminds me of the Washington Monument.
