AMAZING!!! I do this every year and this time I brought my Dad. He is a total boat nerd and was asking Ditty/Hannah a 'boatload' of questions. She answered EVERY single one of them and even told him some more awesome facts. It was an incredible time. Beautiful night, great crew, and amazing hospitality. HIGHLY recommend.…

This is a first class operation and a wonderful sailing experience!!! This was our second time in as many years going out on the Wild Rose and it did not disappoint. Our annual fall trip the Adirondacks and Vermont will ALWAYS include a date with the Whistling Man!! We were on our honeymoon and Captain Bubba and Corey had a bottle of Prosecco waiting for us! The stories and knowledge of the area from both Captain Bubba and Corey just made for an even better trip. We'll be back next year Captain Bubba...and we hope to see Corey too!! Thanks for making our trip so awesome!…

Let me start off by saying the captain and first mate were just super. They were knowledgeable in many ways, sailing of course, history of the Lake and Burlington, geography and hospitality! The sail boat was kept in pristine condition. You have to see Lake Champlain when in Burlington and I highly recommend the Whistling Man Schooner Company!…

We booked a private sailing given it is the Covid era. It was my parents (in their 80s) and my daughter (20s). My mom can get motion sickness and I discussed this when booking. They were more than willing to rebook if the winds were easily safe to sail but too rough for us. The day of our sailing, the winds were perfect until about 30 minutes before sailing. As the winds were picking up when I checked in, the captain and I agreed we would using the power motor until we go to Shelbourne Bay and then use the sails. Being settled the bay was calm and perfect for us. The winds did calm down and we were able to use the jib (front sails) the entire the way back to Burlington. The captain "Bubba" and first mate "Katdo" were good at keeping the conservation entertaining and interesting given a 6 decade age range. As it did get a little cool, they were great about getting our jackets stored below deck and offering waterproof jackets and blankets. I forget Bubba's real name (his granddaughters have decided he's Bubba). Bubba just made Katy "Katdo". We had initially booked the Wild Rose (which seats 6) and ended up on the Friend Ship (which seats 12 tightly) as an upgrade. The boats are almost the same size but the Friend Ship has a larger seating area. This allowed us to social distance easily and added to the experience. Bottom line is with a private tour and communication you can have a really great sail. A minor note: if you google the company name, google maps makes it appear as f they have an office in the ECHO center by the harbor. They do not, they simply meet you at the dock by the sign.…
