We drove up the mountain early one morning and found ourselves above the clouds which made for some interesting photos. At the Outdoor Center, we purchased tickets for the Trapp family history tour which was excellent! Chris Poacher does a great job of telling the story of the von Trapp family; his enthusiasm for his subject along with his personal... More

We did the maple tour and really enjoyed it. I know nothing about maple but my cousin is from Vermont and already knows all the details but she still really liked the tour too! The guide talked about a lot more than just maple including the area, the Trapp family, the cows, other trees and wildflowers and a very good... More

We were very disappointed. This hotel is very dated. Our room smelled like old smoke. The manager was nice enough to move us to a better room, but why didn't we get this nicer room in the first place? We tried to eat in the restaurant in the lodge, but 30 before the restaurant closed, the waiters were pushing us... More

It was interesting to see where they ended up having lived through such an era and having such a story behind them. Only go if you are up the road though really. I wouldn't go hours out of my way.

We were so disappointed. It was old, musty, and nothing to see. There was a bakery across the street and down a ways but it was closed!! This is not worth seeing in my opinion.

Took the Trapp Family Lodge tour. Well recommended. Gives great insight into the true Trapp story. Tour ends with a Q&A with one of the Trapp family.

We wanted to see the Lodge, but then decided to check out the trail around the resort! We found the chapel and enjoyed a nice hike through the woods to admire the amazing color!

My husband and I went to the Outdoor Center to rent mountain bikes for the morning. The gentleman at the shop was wonderful and set us up with our bikes and suggested trails that we would be interested in. The scenery was just gorgeous! We had a beautiful blue sky which was the perfect backdrop to showcase the Fall foliage.... More
