Actually, one can ski on intermediate trails from top to bottom, which can be great if there is plenty of snow and they are groomed. Otherwise, Mad River Glen attracts skiers who like to ski the moguls and the woods and challenge the terrain. It attracts regulars every season. It is also owned by a skiers cooperative and most cooperative... More

We love Vermont and drive up there quite often. Mad River Glen is terrific. I don't ski anymore, so I can't say anything about that, but my younger friends do and they love it.

This is an awesome treat. Every Autumn, Mad River Glen opens their single chair lift for hikers and leaf peepers. The views are fantastic and this family friendly, no-frills, old fashioned ski area is truly a must visit. We can't wait to go back in the winter.

Mad River Glen's bumper sticker reads "Ski it if you Can" but that's a winter season jingle. When the snow melts MRG has an incredible hiking paradise. The naturalist snowshoe trails are ideal for easy to moderate hikes. Hiking from Sugarbush to the App Gap with a stay-over night in the "Stark's Nest" is an exhilerating exercise. See an incredible... More

Definitely a great view of Vermont and the surrounding area. Also a great place to hike through the woods. Be sure to pack a camera, you're going to need it.

Super, old school, cooperatively run ski place. The best instructors and groovy, grey haired lift operators. The food is really good and the ambiance is honest, anti-slick, but tasteful. Our whole family loved it. Super easy to park, get in, rent skiis, and be on the lifts within minutes.

Mad River Glen is an amazing place to ski. It's historic, the terrain is incredible, the people are great. If there's snow, it's not a place to miss.

I have been to Mad River Glen 3 times over the past 3 years. It may have just been good luck with conditions, but this has quickly become my favorite mountains to ski in the Northeast. They received 4 inches of fresh snow on top of already fairly good conditions on Friday, January 29th. The new snow filled in any... More

Imagine an untouched rustic (read challenging) mountain with great trailes and challenges for the skiier. There is a reason they say "ski it if you can" (trust me you can if you have any skills). But there is no commercialism, low noise and perfectly placed lifts to get you anywhere you "dare" to go.

Such amazing skiing, even in the spring. Old fashioned mountain with a nice laid back vibe. Terrain available for all levels of experience. Don't be intimidated by the number stickers, you CAN ski it (maybe not ALL of it, but there is beginner terrain available). The bar/restaurant is a nice plus. Nothing fancy here, just a good ole' New England... More
