Public course, I was greeted in the parking lot by a young valet...with my cart. He loaded my clubs, very friendly and helpful. Drove me to the pro shop. Starter was likewise. I played on Oct 5, and the fall colors are about halfway to peak, but still spectacular. I felt I had this course to myself. Challenging, the fairways... More

The Hermitage Club bought Haystack golf course a few years ago. They have been gradually been turning it into a private club. Currently the public can play there Monday — Friday. The weekends are for Heritage Club members only. It's a beautiful course and it's a typical mountain golf, with the challenges it presents. During the 1990's Mark Bradley was... More

May not need driver all the time Saying that, never had so much trouble reading greens. Some of the breaks were just crazy. Pace of play was good and loved the downhill 11th hole.... More

Haystack Golf Course is now Hermitage. The staff was friendly and helpful. The mountain golf course was beautiful with excellent tees and greens. Nice practice areas. The fairways were a bit disappointing, but overall a very good golfing experience.

we decided to make one more run at golf before leaving VT. It was a pleasure to play, and as the club pro said, there are no blind shots and it was mostly a traditional layout. We have to say what a great course it is! The greens were rolling about 9-9.5 the fairways were excellent, and the elevation changes... More

Awesome 18 hole golf course that is longer than it seems. the 11th hole is a thing of beauty as it is a long par 5 straight down hill. Do yourself a favor and if you play here, take a look back up towards the tee box on this hole when you're on the green. Absolutely a view that will... More

Nothing better then breathing that Vt. air and making some pars and birdies! Fun track with a couple really tight starting holes. The course then opens up and it's really beautiful. The greens are very challenging and you'll have to play them to see what I mean. Once youv'e played a couple rounds you will have a know where to... More

This is a very nice course. Not a lot of water (Holes 6, 7, and the brutal Par 5 14th), but very narrow fairways and extremely well maintained. Look out for the penal greens on 4 and 6 (very fast and ptiched). The view from the 11th tee is quenessential Vermont fall - not to be missed!

I';m glad all the golfers like the course at Haystack. While I don't play, I concur that the vistas from the course are outstanding and that includes those you get while having brunch or lunch in the Clubhouse overlooking the practive greens and the ridgeline and Haystack Mtn that are the focal point from the Clubhouse. What with the temporary... More

Really nice course, greens were in great shape. Rented a great house on the course, could have walked to the clubhouse. Too bad we couldn't enjoy the clubhouse, bartender was rude and nasty.
